Fans of the popular drama series The Wife will get to watch it on DStv's Mzansi Magic (channel 161) from Monday, 12 September.

THE WIFE' ON MZANSI MAGIC Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announced that the first season of the record-breaking Showmax drama series The Wife will be available on Mzansi Magic from 12 September.

According to Sowetan, M-Net revealed on Monday afternoon, 30 August that the hit show will air three nights a week.

According to the publication, Compact subscribers can catch the drama series from Monday to Wednesday at 9.30 pm.

The telenovela which is inspired by author Dudu Busani-Dube's popular Hlomu the Wife book series, The Wife follows the love story of a journalist, Hlomu (played by Skeem Saam's Mbalenhle Mavimbela), and a taxi owner, Mqhele (played by Bonko Khoza).

M-NET CONFIRMS Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, Shirley Adonisi, said:

As much as The Wife is a show about a young couple in love, it's also about loyalty, family, and the lengths people go to in the name of both.

The third instalment of the hit series will return in November 2022 with House of Zwide actress Gaisang K Noge as the new leading lady Naledi, Qhawe's wife.

The show has received 10 nominations at this year's South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) which will premiere on Saturday, 3 September.
