The Tribeca Film Festival has a become a mecca for storytellers and film lovers everywhere - as it elevates the cinematic experience and explores how art can unite communities.
The Tribeca Film Festival was famously co-founded by Robert De Niro in 2001, and in the 17 years since has grown to celebrate the universal art of storytelling in all its forms - film, TV, VR, gaming, music, and more. As a platform for creative expression and immersive entertainment, the Festival champions emerging and established artists and discovers the next wave of award-caliber filmmakers and content creators.
With films chosen from over thousands of submissions every year, offering perspectives from every corner of the globe, Technicolor was honored to have worked on multiple selections this year. Additionally, Marcie Jastrow, SVP of Immersive Media at Technicolor and Head of the Technicolor Experience Center (TEC), will serve as a juror for the 2018 Storyscapes Award Competition. Also for this year's festival, the TEC is proud to support the Tribeca premiere of Jack, the first immersive theater, location-based experience created by the renowned Baobab Studios. By partnering with the Baobab team on upcoming chapters of the experience - and leveraging its suite of easily adaptable VR mechanics and associated real world props - Technicolor is working to bring high-quality, location-based experiences to audiences around the world.
Below is a festival round-up of projects Technicolor collaborated on that are having their premieres at Tribeca, which runs from April 18 to April 29.

Led by Creative Director Kinda Akash, The Mill worked on the film's title sequence.

Obey was graded by The Mill's Mikey Rossiter, who also graded the following two selections.
U.S. Narrative Competition
Little Woods
(World Premiere)
Writer-director Nia DaCosta's debut is a small-town thriller about two sisters struggling to get by in the fracking boomtown of Little Woods, North Dakota - where timely themes of economic downturn, the opioid crisis, and the working class struggle in rural America all play out.
