Roberto S nchez en el 5G Forum: la tecnolog a 5G nos permitir avanzar en una transformaci n digital, sostenible e inclusiva
Roberto Sanchez, Secretario de Estado de Telecomunicaciones e Infraestructuras Digitales (Ministerio de Asuntos Econ micos y Transformaci n Digital), ha abierto la cuarta edici n del 5G Forum que, en esta ocasi n de forma virtual, se desarrollar del 4 al 6 de mayo con la participaci n de las principales empresas y expertos en las redes de nueva generaci n 5G y 6G.
El 5G Forum, organizado por Medina Media Events which has Panorama Audiovisual como media partner, reunir del 4 al 6 de mayo a 68 ponentes, en 35 presentaciones y 7 paneles.
En la inauguraci n, S nchez ha centrado su intervenci n en la estrategia que Espa a est siguiendo para el despliegue del 5G y ha dado algunas pinceladas de c mo se repartir n los fondos europeos para la recuperaci n econ mica.
Entre 20218 y 2020 se ha avanzado en la high-capacity connectivity extendiendo la fibra ptica en todo el territorio alcanzando hoy al 85% de la poblaci n, el 60% en las zonas rurales. Ahora, los diferentes proyectos llevados a cabo por Red.es, seg n S nchez, permitir n ir m s adelante en este proceso para que a finales del a o que viene el 93% de la poblaci n est conectada con fibra con m s de 100 Mbps .
Por otro lado ha puesto en valor la aportaci n que el 5G supondr en cuanto a alta capacidad, baja latencia, alta densidad de dispositivos conectados y que supondr una disruption to the economy. Hay que poner en valor que, a diferencia de las generaciones anteriores, 5G es totalmente disruptivo no solo en cuanto a comunicaciones personales, sino tambi n en el mbito de la actividad econ mica, asistencial, prestaci n de servicios, producci n de bienes, agricultura El 5G es muy distruptivo para el conjunto de la econom a , ha subrayado.
Tambi n ha se alado que la alta capacidad es tambi n un vector de extensi n de la banda ancha ultrar pida ya que permitir ampliar cobertura en zonas rurales para dar servicio tanto a la poblaci n como a sectores que se beneficiar n de las nuevas redes como la agricultura. A juicio del Secretario de Estado, the pandemic has had two effects: por un lado, ha raised the importance of digital transformation en la agenda social. Esta crisis sanitaria ha puesto de manifiesto que muchas de las actividades que se han podido mantener ha sido gracia a la existencia de estas redes y al teletrabajo, teleeducaci n, actividad social mediante la videoconferencia, el ocio o el entretenimiento. Al mismo tiempo, tambi n ha puesto de manifiesto las digital gaps en cuanto a las conexiones de calidad. Por eso, se hace urgente resolver esas brechas existentes tanto entre individuos como entre empresas .
En cuanto a los mbitos de aplicaci n de las redes 5G, S nchez ha remarcado el papel que los diferentes pilotos que se llevan a cabo juegan a la hora de identificar qu aplicaciones tendr n m s xito transformando de forma disruptiva diferentes aspectos de nuestra vida .
Tambi n ha querido detenerse en la confluencia del 5G con otras nuevas tecnolog as como la inteligencia artificial o los servicios cloud.
Fondos europeos Roberto S nchez ha hecho hincapi en que el 5G se ha convertido en un elemento fundamental en la br jula digital europea y que gracias al Plan de Recuperaci n, Transformaci n y Resiliencia que Espa a ha presentado a la Comisi n Europea, nuestro pa s contar con una importante dotaci n econ mica para cometer estas transformaciones en las que el 5G tendr un papel predominante. De los 140.000 millones de euros que Espa a recibir en transferencias y cr ditos durante el per odo 2021-2026, 4.000 millones se destinar n a la Hoja de Ruta del 5G.
En total, las acciones enmarcadas en la transformaci n digital supondr n un 29% de la inversi n p blica, una cifra muy por encima de la recomendaci n que formulaba la Uni n Europea para estos fondos , ha recordado S nchez.
De esos 4.000 millones de euros, unos 2.000 ir n destinados a extender la conectividad con el objetivo de alcanzar que el 100% de la poblaci n tenga una conexi n de al menos 100 Mbps: unos 1.500 millones estar n dedicados al desarrollo del 5G con medidas como la extensi n de redes y acciones de I D i, y otros 500 millones ir n a aspectos relacionados con la ciberseguridad.
El impulso a la tecnolog a 5G se centrar en tres l neas de actuaci n: la adjudicaci n de la banda de 3.5 GHz y la reorganizaci n del espectro; la subasta de la banda de 700 MHz que se pondr en marcha este mismo mes de mayo; y la reasignaci n de la banda milim trica 26 GHz en la que el Gobierno ya trabaja estudiando las peticiones del sector.
Roberto S nchez ha destacado que recientemente el Consejo de Ministros aprob una ampliaci n de 20 a 40 a os del plazo de las futuras concesiones del espectro radioel ctrico, lo que supondr para las telco una mayor confianza a la hora de desplegar redes.
Por otra parte, ha querido remarcar que queremos contribuir a que veamos el 5G no solo como parte de la industria telco sino como un instrumento del desarrollo econ micos de otros muchos sectores. las medidas de apoyo al despliegue de redes 5G tendr n que centrarse en ese concepto con medidas de apoyo en zonas incluso de baja poblaci n para favorecer nuevos servicios relacionados con la agricultura, por ejemplo .
Para cerrar su intervenci n, ha abordado la necesidad de contar con un marco regulatorio y de confianza en el mbito de la ciberseguridad en el 5G y ha anticipado que se enviar al Congreso de los Diputados para su debate una Ley de ciberseguridad de 5G que garantice que esta transformaci n digital se desarrolle minimizando riesgos tecnol gicos y no tecnol gicos.
