Resultaten tweede kwartaal: Stijging van de ARPU1 van 1,0 procent (y-o-y) Het aantal RGU's2 nam af met 28.000, een verbetering van 59.000 (y-o-y), waarmee het totaal aantal RGU's uitkomt op 9.661.000 - Klantverloop op laagste niveau sinds Q2 2014

We hebben een belangrijke stap gezet in de vorming van een nieuw landelijk communicatiebedrijf middels de door de Europese Commissie voorwaardelijk goedgekeurde fusie tussen Ziggo en Vodafone Nederland. De nieuwe krachtige combinatie van de beste vaste en mobiele netwerken in Nederland zal te zijner tijd enorme voordelen opleveren voor Nederlandse consumenten en bedrijven. Samen zullen we een sterkere aanbieder in Nederland zijn, waarvan de klanten van beide bedrijven en de markt als geheel profiteren. Het concreet samengaan van deze twee bedrijven zal nog even duren en daarom blijven we ondertussen verder bouwen op onze waarde strategie. In het tweede kwartaal hebben we dan ook meer functionaliteit, meer internet snelheid en meer tv aanbod aan onze bundels toegevoegd en zijn we blijven investeren in onze klantenservice .
In Q2 2016, heeft Ziggo ondanks deze verbeteringen en mede door de sterke concurrentie 28.000 abonnementen verloren. Dit verlies is een sterke verbetering ten opzichte van het verlies van 87.000 abonnementen in dezelfde periode vorig jaar, wat voornamelijk komt door minder klantverloop en deels door hogere verkopen. Daarmee zijn de positieve effecten te zien van de investeringen die zijn gedaan in de klantenservice en het entertainment platform, zoals bijvoorbeeld de lancering van Ziggo Sport met Formule 1 en het openstellen van Replay TV voor alle klanten via Horizon Go. In april is Ovidius gelanceerd, een nieuw serviceprogramma dat er op gericht is processen voor alle service kanalen verder te verbeteren. Gedurende Q2 zijn meer dan 500.000 klanten met deze nieuwe service aanpak bereikt, wat in Q2 resulteerde in een stijging van de Net Promotor Score (NPS) van de klantenservice ten opzichte van het vorige kwartaal. Op entertainment gebied is te zien dat Ziggo Sport steeds populairder wordt, gezien het feit dat het unieke sportkanaal meer dan 1 miljoen kijkers trok tijdens Formule 1 races, ondersteund door de uitstekende prestaties van Formule 1 coureur Max Verstappen. Daarnaast is er een nieuwe shop-in-shop overeenkomst getekend met de grootste elektronische retailer van Nederland Media Markt', waarmee het aantal winkels met 49 locaties wordt uitgebreid. Ziggo blijft investeren in het Ziggo Sport kanaal, zodat alle klanten, vanaf half augustus, de Engelse Premier League voor de komende drie seizoenen kunnen zien op kanaal 14.
Ondanks het verlies aan televisie abonnees, zijn dat er 11.000 minder dan een kwartaal geleden en 24.000 minder dan een jaar geleden. Deze verbetering is vooral het gevolg van minder klantverloop. Ziggo rapporteert het laagste aantal opzeggingen in twee jaar tijd mede als gevolg van de eerder genoemde initiatieven op het gebied van klantenservice en product verbeteringen. In het tweede kwartaal is een nieuwe buurmannen' campagne gelanceerd, waarin de waarde van het Ziggo merk wordt benadrukt en de voordelen worden getoond van het Horizon TV product portfolio. Mede door deze nieuwe campagne is het aantal Horizon TV abonnementen in het tweede kwartaal met 91.000 gestegen tot een totaal van 898.000 aan het einde van Q2. In april is het populaire Replay TV, met 561.000 unieke gebruikers per einde Q2, beschikbaar gesteld voor alle 4 miljoen klanten via de multi-screen app Horizon Go. Daarnaast is Chromecast en Airplay ondersteuning aan Horizon Go toegevoegd, waardoor alle klanten tv programma's op elk televisie scherm kunnen kijken zonder de aanschaf van een extra set-top box. Deze verbeteringen, samen met de nieuwe buurmannen' campagne, heeft er toe geleid dat het aantal actieve gebruikers van Horizon Go in het tweede kwartaal is gestegen met 21% tot een totaal v
