The Royal Television Society (RTS), leading forum for television and related media, has hired Theresa Wise (pictured) as chief executive, starting in March. She brings 25 years experience working across the television, broader media and technology sectors.
At The Walt Disney Company, she was senior vice president, Corporate Strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, Wise led TWDC's evaluation and execution of acquisition transactions in the EMEA region across all of the Walt Disney Company businesses.
She joined Disney from Accenture where she was partner in the Media and Entertainment practice. While there, she was responsible for developing new clients in the media and entertainment sector.
Prior to Accenture, Wise worked at Deloitte Consulting, British Satellite Broadcasting and BT.
Commenting on her appointment, Wise said: The Royal Television Society is a distinguished organisation with a cherished past and exciting future and it is a privilege to be appointed its CEO. I am looking forward to working closely with the Trustees, RTS Team, Regional Centres, members and patrons to take the RTS into its next phase.
John Hardie, chair of the RTS Board of Trustees, added: With a hugely impressive background in television and beyond, Theresa is an outstanding choice for such an important role, bringing with her a wealth of energy, expertise and experience. I have no doubt she will play a vital part in the years to come, not only in leading and shaping the future of our community, but also in promoting and developing the quality, innovation and originality for which British programming is renowned the world over.
