KUALA LUMPUR, 28th July The world's most prestigious DOTA 2 championship: The International 6 (Ti6) will be televised on eGG Network (Ch 808) and Astro on the Go from 3rd 14th August starting 1am daily (Malaysian time). The annual championship will once again pit 16 of the world's best DOTA 2 teams in a battle for another record breaking prize pool of over USD$18.5 million in eSports history.
Lee Choong Khay, Head of Sports Business at Astro shared eGG Network is proud to be the first in ASEAN to televise the full coverage of The International 2016 from the group stages till the grand finale. Over 1.6 million fans tuned in for the finals of TI5 last year and we believe for even stronger viewership this time around. Bringing the experience further, fans can cheer on their favourite teams at the Ti6 Grand Finals on 13th August viewing parties at 3 major locations across the country
TI6 will kick start with the wildcards and group stages on 3rd 6th August with 16 teams competing for 8 spots at the finals. From 9th to 14th August, the main event will decide the upper bracket and lower bracket finalists on the last day followed by the Grand Finale on 14TH August. With a total of 90 hours of TI6 on eGG Network, fans can be certain of the most complete coverage from the championships.
Beyond screens, eSports fans can join the The International Pub Stomp (14th August) in TGV Cinemas at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Selangor, Tebrau Mall, Johor Bahru, First Avenue, Penang. Hosted by eGG Network personalities Danelie Purdue, Faraz Shababi, Abdul Mu'adz and Faisal Ariffin, fans can gather to cheer on their favourite teams and be in the running to win gaming peripherals and eGG exclusive merchandise. Tickets can be purchased starting 3rd August at www.tgv.com.my or at the respective cinemas.
