Summer Sixteen: GoPro Internship Program Jumps Off

57 New Interns Selected from over 18,000 Applicants

Today, GoPro welcomed 57 bright new faces to its headquarters in San Mateo, California, officially onboarding its largest group of summer interns to date. Now in its third year, the GoPro Internship Program was built to reflect the GoPro culture while creating a community of GoPro ambassadors on campus and investing in the mentorship of junior talent. Those accepted into the program are offered the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects under experienced management and mentorship, engage in fun and exciting events, and ultimately be provided a conduit for full-time employment. As well, it gives these university students vital experience and tools they need to perform well in the professional world.

In addition to working on company project and initiatives, interns will also learn from the executive team in educational workshops with founder and CEO Nick Woodman, president Tony Bates, as well as the heads of software and engineering departments. When they are not getting their learnin on, the interns will be capturing GoPro content at the karting track, Giants and Padres games, the surf, and other all the other hot spots of the GoPro Family.

This year, over 50% of the interns have graduate degrees-as well as a handful of Ph.D and J.D. doctorates-from universities all over the country including Stanford, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, Harvard and Duke.
