Text DaciaDuster to 50300 to donate 4 to Childline
RT 2FM in association with Kearys Motor Group is giving a car away to one lucky listener in aid of Childline. Starting on 2FM Breakfast with Doireann, Donnacha and Carl this morning, the text lines opened, and listeners are in with a chance to win a car while donating to help children all over Ireland. The text lines will remain open for two weeks and the competition will run across the 2FM schedule until the lucky winner is announced on Drive It With The 2 Johnnies on Friday 30th September. Listeners can enter the competition by texting DaciaDuster to 50300.
2FM has teamed up with Kearys Motor Group to raise much-needed funds for Childline. By the end of September, Childline will have responded to 115,000 children all over Ireland. On average, Childline responds to 2,200 contacts a week or over 300 every day. Anxiety, depression and low mood are key areas that children speak about with their counsellors every day. This is a key concern it is a growing problem for children with very little resources available outside of Childline services, which is a key reason why Childline is so important. Childline is open 24 hours a day, 365 days of a year. To contact Childline, phone 1800 666 666 or text 50101.
Caroline Downey President of Childline said: We would like to thank Kearys Motors for their very generous donation of the Dacia Duster to raffle to generate funds for Childline and also thank 2FM for their fantastic support. Childline needs 12,000 funding per day to keep the phone/ text/ chat service open 24 hours a day.
Head of RT 2FM and Radio Strategy, Dan Healy, said: 2FM is delighted to continue its ongoing association with Childline, which needs all the help it can get throughout the year. Kearys Motors have provided an incredible prize. All the shows will give this fundraiser their very best.
