Ningbo "mountain maraon" to kick off

According to the organizing committee of the 2017 Ningbo Mountain Marathon, the organizing, security, volunteer service, administrative service and emergency rescue of the event to be held on April 16 have come to the final stage of preparation. As the "most appealing mountain marathon race in East China", the event will be a new highlight for the development of sports in Jiangbei District.

In recent years, Jiangbei District has hosted a range of sports events at the state, provincial and municipal levels with great successes, which has greatly enriched the lives of the local citizens. In the area covering Baoguo Temple and Sunhu Lake Tourist Resort, the district will build the training and competition base for some chess and card games. The tree state-level bases that will settle down in Jiangbei District include the national promotion base for chess and card sports, the national training and competition base for bridge and the national training and competition base for chess. In September 2013, the leisure trail of the North Mountain was completed and open to public. The tour trail from the Lingshan Village of Zhuangqiao Town to the Wuxing Village of Cicheng Town connects the beautiful villages and the appealing scenery along the way. The mountain marathon race, having been held for three consecutive years, attracts tens of thousands of people to the area. There are now 257 exercise spots for the local citizens in the district and almost every street or town has its own featured sports teams.

Just as the major events are a kind of test to the civilization, environment protection and economic development of a city, the sports facilities and centers have incalculable effects to the citys development. The construction of the Ningbo Olympics Center, as well as the water sports center and the small-ball training center, is playing a great role in the improvement of the professional sports in Jiangbei District.
