New Forms of Busine Emerging in Old Bund

Old Bund in Ningbo was entitled the China Famous Commercial District recently, the only district nationwide granted such an honor in 2015. Taking this opportunity, a batch of new forms of business permeated with fashion and culture are sprouting in Old Bund.

Jiangbei District, the largest central district of Ningbo, has a long history with profound cultural heritages, such as Old Bund, the thousand-year-old ancient town Cicheng, Baoguo Temple and so on. In recent years, Jiangbei District has made great efforts to protect the existing heritage resources and introduce characteristic projects at the same time. At present, there are 1,333 units of cultural industry, including 64 units above designated size. The added value of the emerging industries like cultural innovation and cultural tourism accounts for nearly forty percent of the added value of cultural industry.

The distinctive historical feeling and cultural atmosphere of old streets, old factories and old houses have attracted many cultural and creative enterprises to settle in Jiangbei District. The 212-meter-long Deji Alley, which is close to the Yongjiang River and has much exquisite ancient architecture, has become a promised land for young people to start business. More than 10 cultural and creative enterprises have settled in Deji Alley, its good reputation radiating the surrounding areas. Cicheng has been actively developing film industry with its ancient atmosphere. Zhuangqiao Stree is gathered by1956 Creative Park, art exhibition center, business service center, public conference room, coffee shops, etc.

Meantime, Jiangbei Distric has issued an industry development plan to ensure that old buildings and objects can exert their maximize value under scientific and reasonable utilization.

From January to October in 2015, 328 new cultural enterprises have settled in Jiangbei District, including 26 enterprises with registered capital over ten million yuan and 11 enterprises with sales income over hundreds of millions yuan.
