Self-proclaimed gqom queen Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo is back in the studio and fans can expect her to release her upcoming project soon

BABES WODUMO BACK TO RECLAIM HER SPOT Gqom queen Babes Wodumo shot to fame with her smash hit Wololo in 2016 and she has since become one of Mzansi's most successful female singers. Her hits include Umngan'Wam which was released in 2016, Gandaganda and Angisona which was released in 2017.

Following the death of her husband Mandla Mampintsha Maphumulo on 24 Deceber 2022 and her mother-in-law Zamanguni Gumede, Babes is picking herself up and gearing up for a huge comeback in the game. The Wololo hitmaker appears to have taken her fans' advice to polish her career and reclaim her spot as gqom queen.

Durban-based artist and music producer Nkazimulo TNS Ngema took to his Facebook account to announce that was back in the studio cooking up a storm again. According to TNS, Babes is working on her next album, which is due for release later in the year.

DJ TIRA ENCOURAGES BABES WODUMO TO GET BACK TO THE GAME At Mampintsha's memorial service held in December at Thekwini Community Church in Durban, seasoned music producer, and DJ Tira, encouraged Babes to work hard again to revive her career and get out of her comfort phase. The gqom sensation is ready to serve more hits soon, as she seems to have taken Tira's advice seriously.

Babes must go back to the top of the charts. When she joined the music industry she was charging R100,000 per gig. You [Babes] should not be comfortable and you need to get out of your comfort zone if you want to go back to the top. You need to work hard and have a focus. Also, we still have Sponge to raise because Mampintsha is no longer with us. We as his friends, we will do anything for him, said Tira.

At Mampintsha's funeral, Babes expressed her gratitude to DJ for loving her late husband. After that, she pleaded with both Tira and Danger never to abandon her. Thank you, Tira for loving my husband and Danger thank you. Tira please do not abandon me and you Danger, she said while speaking at Mampintsha's funeral service.
