YI Technology, the leading, international provider of advanced, intelligent imaging technologies, announced today that its highly anticipated YI 4K Action Camera, is now available to purchase in Europe on Amazon UK/ Amazon Spain/ Amazon France and Aliexpress.com. The YI 4K is the first action camera to capture 4K video at 60 frames per second (fps), setting a new standard for the action camera category with the sharpest and most detailed video capture on the market today.
Following the success of our YI 4K Action Camera and the overwhelmingly positive feedback and enthusiasm for the 4K at CES 2017, we are proud to release what we believe to be the worlds best action camera, said Sean Da, CEO of YI Technology. As always, we have listened to all the feedback from our customers, both professional and consumer, to offer the most advanced image quality settings for pros, while maintaining a simple and intuitive interface.
Based on its award-winning YI 4K, the 4K Action Camera features many updates from the previous model. In addition to doubling the frame rate of its predecessor and that of competitors products, the YI 4K is the first camera to use an Ambarella H2 SoC processor, offering a maximum bitrate of 120Mbps. This processor also allows the YI 4K to consume extremely low power to maintain battery life (approximately 71 min for 4K 60fps video mode), while still delivering 4K ultra HD video. In addition, the 4K includes Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) support for 4K/30fps and high-quality outdoor audio. A future firmware update will offer live streaming, RAW image format, and voice command technology for hands-free control.
The future of imaging includes realistic content captured from many different vantage points, said Alan Bullock, InfoTrends. The YI 4K does just that, providing professional-grade technology in a connected device thats small enough to fit in your pocket, and for a fraction of the cost of many competing cameras. Some analysts predict the virtual reality (VR) market will reach as much as $162 billion by 2020 (IDC). YI 4K has been a popular building block for developing VR cameras. Google and YI are working together on a Jump virtual reality camera.
The YI 4K promises to be a significant upgrade for VR camera solutions.

The YI 4K is backwards compatible with all the YI 4K accessories including waterproof housing and handheld gimbal as well as the newest model, YI Handheld Gimbal 2.
