Movistar and Disney they have signed a strategic alliance that will provide value and differentiation to offer Movistar television content.
This agreement pioneer among two leading brands in the entertainment industry, which has been presented today by Luis Miguel Gilp rez, President of Telef nica Spain; Sim n Amselem, CEO of The Walt Disney Company for Spain and Portugal, and Fernando Jerez, director of #0 and Movistar entertainment content, will allow the launch of Movistar Disney, a new brand that will begin its broadcasts the next 22 of December and will feature content from Disney and Disney Pixar, part exclusively of the permanent catalogue of Movistar.
"With this partnership we are presenting today, we renew our agreement with Disney, a leading company internationally in the creation of quality content. Thanks to this union we will continue approaching clients with Disney content, thus building the model of television that the user requests. "The best entertainment is already in a single Galaxy: Movistar", said Luis Miguel Gilp rez, President of Telef nica Spain, during the presentation held today.
Simon Amselem, CEO of The Walt Disney Company for Spain and Portugal, has argued that "at Disney, we are committed to technology, innovation and creativity, and therefore consider MoviStar a key partner to bring all of our content to the public Spanish. It is the first time in our market that one platform, on the linear and non-linear environment, will have both content Disney. Movistar will be one of the few operators in the world that will seal Disney an own channel."
Thus, Movistar Disney becomes the second channel in the world which associated the brand Disney to a pay-TV platform after the Sky Movies Disney Channel in the United Kingdom. Movistar Disney comes to complete our family of channels, where cinema is almost half of the consumption (47%). Themed events
Movistar Disney will also have events programming themed to Disney news on the Spanish market.
