DJI presents 3-axis handheld gimbal --

DJI, a company which traditionally produces advanced aerial system technology, has developed the DJI Ronin, a 3-axis handheld gimbal which makes use of cutting edge camera stabilization technology.
The gimbal provides filmmakers with a supreme level of precision through the use of custom sensors, powerful motors, a built-in balance adjustment system and advanced algorithms. Using ATS (Auto Tune Stability) technology the Ronin is tuned to a particular camera rig at the touch of a button.
The Ronin is versatile and can be adjusted to carry small and light cameras or heavier systems if needed. Based on a camera rig s weight, it is able to incorporate sensors which selectively activate motors, continuously keeping the camera level. Not only is the Ronin durable, as it is made from aircraft-grade aluminium, it is also designed for both single and dual operation and can be remotely controlled by a second operator
Three different modes of operation allow the support structure to be used in various ways:
Upright Mode
This allows users to bring a camera close to eye level in order to film from an elevated perspective without straining to get it in position.
Underslung Mode
This mode allows cameras to be positioned from low angles close to the ground to chest level height. This mode is also used when the Ronin is suspended from a camera jib or crane.
Briefcase Mode
Briefcase mode is the ideal configuration for when cinematographers need to move through narrow settings as it allows for the camera to be held to the side and close to the legs.
SmoothTrack functionality remains in all three modes and each can be executed without users having to change settings on the Ronin Assistant app or a second operator remote.
