Changes in TeliaSonera's management team

TeliaSonera is combining the units Group Commercial and Group Technology into a new unit. Malin Frenning will leave TeliaSonera and Emil Nilsson will head Region Eurasia.

We are maximizing and aligning our commercial and technology agendas in order to fully leverage our strengths as a Group. This will bring our operations even closer to the customers, ensure faster time to market and delivery on our transformation agenda , says Johan Dennelind, President and CEO, TeliaSonera.

The search for an EVP (Executive Vice President) and head of the combined unit has started.

As a consequence of the changes, Malin Frenning, currently SVP (Senior Vice President) responsible for overseeing Group Technology and the ongoing transformation program,program, will leave TeliaSonera.

Malin has been with TeliaSonera for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in turning the company into one of Europe's leading operators. I really want to thank Malin for all her great work and achievements and wish her all the best going forward , says Johan Dennelind, President and CEO, TeliaSonera.

Following the announcement that TeliaSonera is reducing its presence in Eurasia, Emil Nilsson has been appointed SVP and Head of Region Eurasia. At the same time, a Steering Board with the overall strategic responsibility for the Region is set up, chaired by Johan Dennelind.

Going forward, Group Executive Management will focus on the New Generation Telco agenda and our home markets in Regions Europe and Sweden. That's why we need a separate governance structure. The Steering Board approach is to ensure continued alignment within the Group , Johan Dennelind says.

Emil Nilsson assumes his new position on 5 October, 2015.

Erik Hallberg, EVP and Head of Region Eurasia, will assume a new position with TeliaSonera.

Erik has successfully developed the Eurasian portfolio while introducing sustainability and compliance to be part of doing business in these countries. I am looking forward to seeing Erik take up a new challenge in the Group , says Johan Dennelind
