5 Star Supplies Over 00 Cases To CT Doha

(10/11/2013) Leading European flightcase manufacturer 5 Star Cases has shipped the first part of a major order for over 100 road cases for live event AV and video specialist Creative Technology (CT)'s Doha, Qatar facility.

These are to house a variety of kit used day-to-day by the busy rental operation which is headed by General Manager Andy Reardon, including control systems, racks, a variety of different sized plasma screens, mains and power distros, 3U drawered racks, plastic blow-moulded cases with CNC machined foam inserts for audio and video processors and a number of high end bespoke designed cases to house assorted cameras.

5 Star's Keith Sykes visited Doha in the summer and undertook a marathon measure up of all the kit needing to be cased.

In the UK, CT has been a 5 Star client for many years, but this is the first time they have supplied the international facilities.

Reardon has been a big fan of 5 Star's products for some time and also worked with several well-known rental companies in the UK before joining CT, where he would always use 5 Star when possible.

Great products and an excellent team he says I believe strongly in the products that 5 Star produce and appreciate the level to which they get involved and the amount of detail that goes in to each project .. from the initial phone call through the design and drawing stages right to the final delivery .

Some of the cases were built on previous models that had been created for CT - for continuity while others were completely new. Each one of them individually, to some extent, required a degree of customization.

They were manufactured in the UK to 5 Star's usual exacting standards, utilizing a range of 5 Star case specifications according to the kit being housed, ranging from Lite-Flite to the heavy duty Super Tour.

All the cases were finished in the signature CT black laminate exterior with stylish yellow base or lid enhancement, together with smart screen-printed CT branding.

CT has been active in Qatar for several years and Andy Reardon worked with CT's UK team as a Project Manager prior to relocating to open and develop the Doha operation, which has been extremely successful.
