The Winter Olympics are rolling to a close, but SVG is still on the scene, covering all the video-production and tech happenings in PyeongChang, South Korea. SVG is bringing you special episodes of The SVG Podcast as Executive Director Ken Kerschbaumer and Director of Digital Brandon Costa give you the inside scoop on all the innovations they are seeing at the Olympics.
In addition, each episode will feature an in-depth interview with a major executive or intriguing personality who dissects their team's efforts and offers opinions on larger trends facing the sports-media industry.
In today's episode, Kerschbaumer and Costa discuss how digital distribution is changing the face of the Olympics both on the viewership side and in behind-the-scenes workflows. Plus, they dive into the efforts of the OBS and the Olympic Channel here in PyeongChang.
Costa also sits down with Olympic Channel GM Mark Parkman to discuss the young media entity, its growth, and the role it plays at an Olympic Games when it doesn't own live-broadcast rights in many regions around the world.
