Many members of the LGBTQI community have looked up to queer celebrities who have shared their coming out stories with their fans. Take a look at five celebrities who have come out as queer.

1. REBEL WILSON Australian actress Rebel Wilson came out as queer in an Instagram post in June. In the same post, the Pitch Perfect star also introduced fans to her partner, fashion designer Ramona Agruma.

I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess, Wilson wrote on Instagram.

-- 2. EMELI SAND Award-winning singer-songwriter Emeli Sand introduced her partner Yoana Karemova in a Twitter post in April. In her post, the Next To Me hitmaker said falling in love with Yoana gave her the strength she needed .

3. JAKE DANIELS Blackpool Football Club player Jake Daniels made history as the first openly gay male footballer in the United Kingdom. After he came out, the 17-year-old had the support of his Blackpool teammates and other local football clubs.

I can't really put a date on it, but I was probably five or six years old when I knew I was gay. So it's been a long time that I have been living with the lie, said the forward in an interview with The Sun.

-- 4. ELLIOT PAGE Elliot Page, who was born Ellen Page, came out as transgender in December 2020. The Juno star made history as the first transgender man to cover Time Magazine. He told the publication that after coming out, he gained 400 000 Instagram followers.

-- 5. LIL NAS X In 2019, Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Nas X told Time Magazine that he didn't plan on coming out as a gay man. The rapper came out while his hip-hop and country single, Old Town Road, was number one on the Billboard 100.

I know the people who listen to [country music] the most and they're not accepting of homosexuality.
