ITV hosts an evening fit for Royalty
ITV today announced We Are Most Amused and Amazed, a truly unique and unforgettable night where the world's greatest comics join forces with the most accomplished of magicians to celebrate The Prince of Waless 70th Birthday.
The Prince has been a lifelong fan of both magic and comedy having been a devotee of The Goon Show from an early age and inducted into The Magic Circle in 1975. His Royal Highness turns 70 this year and, in order to celebrate this milestone, ITV Studios Entertainment and Spun Gold TV will stage a huge gala event
We Are Most Amused and Amazed will be a similar concept to the special that ITV created for The Prince of Wales' 60th birthday back in 2008. We Are Most Amused' was a comedy special that boasted a stellar line-up including Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, Eric Idle, Rowan Atkinson, Michael McIntyre, Bill Bailey and a much anticipated reunion between John Cleese and Andrew Sachs who recreated his role of Manuel from the classic comedy series Faulty Towers.
The iconic London Palladium will play host to this 2018 special event with tickets sold to the public and proceeds going to youth charity The Prince's Trust [For ticket sales, please visit princes-trust.org.uk/amazed]. This one-off event will not only see a cast of comedy giants take to the stage, but will also showcase the best jaw-dropping illusions from the greatest magicians in the business.
This two-hour special has been commissioned by ITV's Commissioning Editor Asif Zubairy. We Are Most Amused and Most Amazed is an ITV Studios Entertainment and Spun Gold TV
co-production. Executive Producers for ITV are Sue Andrew and Lee Connolly with Nick Bullen Executive Producing for Spun Gold - the same team which produced the BAFTA-winning The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration.
