The German based specialist for digital audio connectivity and networked audio DirectOut Technologies' and the renowned manufacturer of digital mixing consoles Stage Tec' have announced a close collaboration in providing audio-over-IP solutions.
The collaboration is based upon DirectOut's powerful and highly adaptive AES67 hardware platform, used in the popular MONTONE.42 MADI/RAVENNA bridge. The goal is to enable AES67 compatibility for the whole Stage Tec product range, based on the Digital Audio Routing System NEXUS.
We are very happy, to have this cooperation with one of the early adopters of AES67. The outstanding reliability and flexibility of DirectOut products is a great reference for manufacturer independent audio and control interconnection , comments Dr. Helmut Jahne, managing director from Stage Tec. With the integration of the DirectOut AES67 platform, we add another audio interface to our products, further increasing our range of supported audio formats. In taking this step we ready ourselves for the future demands in the increasing number of IP based production sites. Our goal is to have our products ready for interoperability not just on the audio side, but also on the control side. Therefore we focus on protocols like AES70, NMOS-IS04 as well as SMPTE 2110 -30/31 in the near future.
DirectOut CTO Stephan Flock welcomes the new cooperation of the two companies: As an early adopter of RAVENNA and long-term supporter of AES67, we are happy to provide our AES67 hardware as to those who want to add a powerful Audio-over-IP interface to their products. Based on the worldwide project business where our AoIP hardware has already been integrated and the frequent participation on the official AES plugfest events, we have collected a lot of experience and know-how in creating and improving our AES67 stack. Thus, we are thrilled to support a renowned company as Stage Tec is with our technology, helping them to implement and develop new networked audio solutions.
