New local Tamil series, Kalvanai Kandupidi' debuts on Astro Vinmeen (CH 231)

All Astro customers can enjoy a new local supernatural series Kalvanai Kandupidi directed by Karthik Shamalan, premiering on 1 July on Astro Vinmeen HD (CH 231) via TV, Astro GO and on demand.
KuppusamySandragas, Assistant Vice President, Indian Channel Business (Vinmeen) and Digital, Astro said, As we continue to champion local content, offering our customers a wide variety of quality local content is becomes our priority. Starting July with Kalvanai Kandupidi, customers will enjoy a new local Tamil series every month on Astro Vinmeen HD (CH 231), which will span across a wide range of genres. We are excited to provide more opportunities for local talents to showcase their high-quality series and films and are optimistic our customers will enjoy this new slate of upcoming shows.
Karthik Shamalan, Director, KalvanaiKandupidi, said, We are excited to premiere this first local Tamil supernatural series and we hope all Malaysians enjoy it. We also hope that Malaysians continue to support the local film industry and appreciate the opportunities provided by Astro.
Customers can enjoy this 26-episode series, which stars Lingkesvaran Maniam, Pashini Sivakumar, Magen Vikadakavi, K.S. Maniam, [email protected] G, Raaj Ganesh, Ravin Rao, Santheran, Sangabalan, R.Mohana Raj, KPT (PA) Ramasundran, Subashini Asokan, Renny Martin and Sai Kogila. Kalvanai Kandupidi is about Vishankavel Rajamoorty (Vishan) who loses interest in life after the murder of his beloved girlfriend, which he feels guilty about. He begins a quest to try and communicate with her soul one last time, and along the way, gains supernatural powers which enable him to communicate with the dead. He takes on a job as a private detective solving murder cases but matters get complicated in the supernatural realm when a soul is set free and seeks revenge against Vishan.
