Camera Corps takes aboard SIS Specials

Vitec Videocom's Camera Corps has acquired the assets of SIS Live Special Cameras. SIS Live announced at the end of last year that it was closing its OB division in March.

The addition of SIS Live Special Cameras' inventory and specially designed gear will expand Camera Corp's offering of specialist cameras and equipment. Among the equipment in the Special Cameras portfolio are the Stump Cam frequently used in cricket coverage, and onboard cameras used in high profile events such as the America's Cup yachting and Isle of Mann TT racing. Also in the portfolio are the Plunge Cam, which follows high board divers into the pool and underwater, and the Halibut Underwater HD tracking camera.

The assets also include the exclusive camera mounting systems used for state events inside listed buildings, such as St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Kings College London, and St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Key staff from SIS Live Special Cameras will join the UK Camera Corps team at their Byfleet location, including special projects manager Paul McNeil and commercial bid manager Barry Parker.
