In the process, DCI has also gained the flexibility to anticipate and respond to rapidly changing needs and has been able to simplify management and drastically reduce its data center footprint and management overhead costs.
DCI provides advanced banking solutions for the financial industry, including bank processing and management systems, Internet banking, teller automation, ATM/card services network, and backroom services. For DCIs bank customers, continuous service is a must, and data needs to be available immediately in order for them to best serve their own customers. ISG Technology, Inc., helped DCI implement a VMware server virtualization solution with over 200TB of NetApp storage.
DCI is now able to do much more with much less, managing all 200TB+ of data with one full-time employee.
DCI has been able to retire 85 physical servers and reduce storage needs by 50%.
By significantly reducing the number of servers and spinning hard drives in its data centers, DCI is on track to save 70%, or $125,000, in annual power and cooling costs, and to have a 75% reduction in data center real estate.
Solution Detail
The flexible, shared IT infrastructure built on NetApp storage supports DCIs private-cloud-based iCore360 bank management software.
iCore360 helps banks provide better service to their customers by being able to quickly deploy new features and services without requiring additional investments in time, money, or technical staff.
To expand its automated backup, recovery and disaster recovery capabilities for its own systems and customers, DCI deployed SnapManager for Virtual Infrastructure, which automates replication and recovery services.
