Severe thunderstorms are expected between Port St. John's and Port Alfred and the adjacent interior of the Eastern Cape.

Localized urban flooding is expected in places over the Free State and North West provinces.

Weather forecast and UV index for all provinces Gauteng: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme south west.

UVB sunburn index: Moderate.

Mpumalanga: Fog along the escarpment and Highveld at first, otherwise cloudy and cool, but warm over the Lowveld, with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Limpopo: Fog and drizzle along the escarpment at first, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme south west.

North-West Province: Cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Free State: Cloudy and cool to cold with widespread showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape: Fine in the west, otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the east east where it will be cloudy. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape: Cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but fine and warm in the west where it will become partly cloudy. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly reaching near gale force along the south-west and south coasts.

UVB index: High.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Cool in places, otherwise cloudy and cold with scattered showers, but widespread in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly, becoming strong east of Cape St Francis from mid-morning.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Cool along the coast, otherwise cloudy and cold with widespread showers and thundershowers. Heavy rain is expected in places. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly, becoming north-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal: Fog patches in places over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool. Widespread showers and thundershowers are expected in the south and east, otherwise scattered. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly.

UVB index: Low.
