Lebogang Raseaba directs Sibot & OKMalumkoolkat collaboration

Arcade Content's Lebogang Rasethaba directed the music video for Nice Shandees, the Sibot and OKMalumkoolkat collaboration that dropped on YouTube yesterday.

Nice Shandees was the start of a close friendship with OKmalum, says Sibot. We seem to get each other, which is rare.

Sibot and OKMalumkoolkat both featured in Lebogang's acclaimed documentary, Future Sound of Mzansi, a celebration of the electronic musicians behind the country's post-Apartheid after-party.

Lebogang's visual interpretation of the track is more digital art than music video. Sibot's beat and Okmalumkoolkat's lyrics gave us an opportunity to create a world that has never been seen before, he says. Once that became clear to us, we set to make a standout video that broke all standing space-time continuum inventories within music video language.

Sibot has released music for Diplo's Mad Decent label; sound-tracked Miley Cyrus' Instagram videos; and collaborated with the who's who of the South African music scene, including Spoek Mathambo, Ninja (Die Antwoord), Markus Wormstorm, and Felix Laband.

OKmalumkoolkat similarly has a cult-like following in South Africa, not just for his solo work but also for his collaborations as BoyznBucks and Dirty Paraffin.

Nice Shandees was originally released last year on Sibot's free-download EP, Arc Eyes. I initially wanted it for my mixtape but got the opportunity to put it out through Red Bull Studio Cape Town, backed by a billboard, laughs Sibot.
