A number of organizations (including the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association) claim that .LGBT merely seeks to stereotype and monetize a presumed gay lifestyle, while Afilias has defended its creation as a practical and inclusive safe space for members of the wider community.

What Tribeca says: All web-users deserve the right to feel secure and accepted on the internet. Whether .LGBT can ensure this for its consumers remains to be seen, but it's an intriguing option all the same.
