Actor and producer Hlomla Dandala (Zweli Dikana on The River) has confirmed that he is leaving the 1Magic telenovela The River after five seasons.

Hlomla said in an Instagram story that The end of an actors time on a long running show is bitter-sweet. Wishing my colleagues a smooth fruitful run. You will be missed .

PLEASE DONT KILL ZWELI' VIEWERS BEG WRITERS After Entertainment Commentator Kgopolo Mphela announced that Hlomla has exited the hit 1Magic show, viewers expressed how the show did not utilise his talent.

Although Phil (as he is affectionately known) did not divulge the details of his death, viewers were quick to point out a flash forward to season 5 episode 1, where Mabutho (Thembinkosi Mthembu) accidentally kills' him in a bathroom.

Viewers did not like the confirmation of Zweli's death so they have resorted to pleading with the writers of the show to call off his death.

SHOULD THE RIVER CLOSE THE CURTAIN? This telenovela that once had people on the edge of their seats has been called boring' while the writers of the show are said to have dropped the ball.
