London, UK - At the UK Radiology Congress (UKRC), 2015, Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG; AEX: PHIA) will be showcasing its latest range of imaging solutions, designed to intuitively capture and share advanced diagnostic information with greater efficiency, to support rapid clinical decision making by radiology teams.
Ian Graves, Philips Healthcare Business Manager Imaging Systems, UK & I comments; At Philips, our aim is to ensure that each radiologist not only has access to the highest quality images for accurate diagnosis, but that the information is captured and shared intelligently across clinical specialities to support decision making within multidisciplinary teams. By looking at product and system design holistically, our innovations are able to provide clinicians with increasingly sophisticated data, making it easier for them to quickly establish the best patient treatment pathway.
The solutions on display at UKRC are designed to offer a series of significant benefits to clinicians and patients by simplifying the process of clinical collaboration.
Making complex procedures easier through simplified image capture
Philips will display Veradius Unity at UKRC, a system that offers live image guidance controlled through a tablet-style interface. This intuitive interface provides a touch-screen C-arm control mechanism for operators so they can respond to physician requests instantly, making adjustments as required for the best image capture. ClearGuide software and colour coding on the C-arm standardises positioning reference-terms for improved clinical communication while a position memory' function minimises the time taken for the C-Arm re-positioning in complex multi-image procedures.
Health informatics working faster and reaching further
Philips' IntelliSpace Portal 7.0 and Intellispace PACS workstations provide advanced health informatics tools to help clinicians collaborate across clinical specialities. By combining picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and radiology information systems (RIS) within a single and remotely accessible platform, cross departmental and cross-site information sharing becomes a seamless transfer of data and ideas. The portal provides advanced clinical applications in cardiology, vascular, oncology, neurology and other specialities to offer true integration and collaboration.
Evolved patient experience for quicker MRI
The Ingenia 1.5T S with Ambient Experience In-Bore** solution will be available to test on-site at UKRC. Providing patients with immersive and relaxing visuals in-bore, as well as soft tone dB scanner noise reduction for a quieter scan and automated voice commands for easier use, the functions have been built-in to ensure patient anxiety levels are reduced throughout the MRI procedure. Calm, still, patients will benefit from better images, quicker procedures and greater comfort.
The next level of intuitive ultrasound
Philips Affinity 70 portable ultrasound solution provides increasingly advanced US images through Tissue Specific Presets (TSPs), which make over 7,500 adjustments to capture the best images for each type of examination. It combines the clinical precision of beamforming for spatial and contrast resolution, tissue uniformity and artifact and image clutter reduction with an intuitive and elegant interface that requires minimal clinician training*, making it easier to obtain best-in-class images.
Making mobile digital X-Ray child's play
Philips will be displaying the winning design for its mobile X-Ray colouring competition at UKRC. From over 190 submissions, Skippy the kangaroo was chosen as the winning design and will be on show. Skippy's friendly design helps engage, reassure and comfort young patients who need a digital X-Ray procedure.
Increasing clarity, reducing dosage
Philips Dosewise Portal**** will also be on display. A comprehensive radiation dose management software solution, the portal is currently under development and will provide clinicians with the ability to record, analyse and monitor patient and clinician radiation dose exposure across diagnostic and interventional settings, in co-ordination with the ClarityIQ, IMR and DoseAware dose management tools.

IQon Spectral CT** - The world's first spectral-detector CT that can retrospectively add spectral resolution to the image quality, delivering anatomical information and the ability to characterise structures with workflow that's radically simple and at low dose
Vereos PET/CT - Philips Vereos PET/CT is the world's first digital PET/CT scanner and offers dramatic improvements of approximately 2x volumetric resolution, 2x sensitivity gain and 2x quantitative accuracy compared to analogue systems***
Visiq ultrasound - a portable ultrasound scanner designed to provide high quality images wherever and whenever care takes place
Ultrasound on Demand - Philips new ultrasound on demand service offers a new procurement model that increases clinical access to top-of-the-range ultrasound technology by charging on a pay per use basis
