Van Lang University Creates A Cutting-Edge Event Space with HARMAN Professional Solutions

September 17, 2019 HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam-Ba Sao Investment Co., Ltd recently installed an industry-leading HARMAN Professional Solutions networked audio, video, light and control solution at Van Lang University to deliver pristine sound and alluring lighting for performances, presentations and events.

Founded in 1995, Van Lang University is one of the first and most distinguished private universities in Vietnam. With three sprawling facilities across Ho Chi Minh City, Van Lang University offers an array of educational amenities, including an expansive technology center, a smart library and a world-class concert hall. In order to provide exceptional sound and lighting for events in the concert hall, Van Lang University hired Vietnams premier AV distributor, Ba Sao Investment Co., Ltd to install a powerful, easy-to-use AV solution. After surveying the location, Ba Sao Investment assembled a comprehensive HARMAN Professional Solutions networked AV system.

Van Lang is one of the most prestigious universities in Vietnam, and they required a state-of-the-art AVLC solution to produce world-class events in their concert hall, said Nguyen Huu Tuan, Sales Director, Ba Sao Investment Co. Ltd. Aiming to provide the University with a user-friendly system, we selected a range of HARMAN Professional products for their unrivaled flexibility, intuitive controls and superior sound and light quality.

Ba Sao Investment equipped the concert hall with a JBL VRX932LAP line array loudspeaker system and VRX918SP line array subwoofers for class-leading sound with brilliant highs and deep lows. JBL PRX815W floor monitors provide speakers and performers with clear, intelligible sound while on stage. Ba Sao also selected JBL LSR305 powered studio monitors for their detailed, accurate sound.

Chosen for its unrivaled sound quality and intuitive workflow, Ba Sao installed a Soundcraft Si Impact digital mixing console to provide front of house engineers with total control over the sound in the concert hall. A Soundcraft Mini Stagebox 32R and dbx dB12 direct boxes offer rugged, durable solutions for connecting equipment on stage.

In order to capture exceptional sound for speakers and performers on stage, Ba Sao provided the University with AKG D5 professional dynamic vocal microphones and WMS470 D5 professional multichannel wireless microphone systems. AKG IVM 4 in-ear monitoring systems provide musicians, vocalists and presenters with crystal-clear sound while performing on stage. The system also utilized AKG antennas, power supplies and splitters.

Selected for their robust routing options and advanced signal processing capabilities, BSS BLU-100 signal processors and EX-8BV-BLK-EU Ethernet controllers provide the staff at the University with an intuitive interface for controlling sound and lighting in the concert hall.

In order to deliver dazzling lighting displays, Ba Sao equipped the concert hall with an array of Martin Professional lighting fixtures and a JEM ZR25 fog machine. A Martin M2PC lighting control surface enables staff to quickly create professional lighting displays.

We wanted to install a modern AV system in our concert hall with enough flexibility to handle events of any size, said Minh Tri, Operation Manager Van Lang University. Our new HARMAN AV system is easy for our staff and students to learn and operate, and provides us with everything we need to produce successful events.
