TO BREAK GROUND FOR WOMEN AT SCTE ISBE CABLE-TEC EXPO 2018
Americas' Largest Cable Event Slated For Oct. 22-25, in Atlanta
OCT. 11, 2018 (Exton, PA)-More than two dozen talented female executives from cable, Silicon Valley and beyond will share their views of how women can achieve continued progress in the workplace and drive technology advancements during the largest cable event in the Americas, SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2018, Monday through Thursday, Oct. 22-25 at Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center.
From Innovation Theater panels featuring female CEOs and learning and development innovators to Annual Awards Luncheon remarks by a breakthrough military aviator, Cable-Tec Expo will deliver insights into ways in which women-and men-can advance in the workplace and build value for their companies.
Among the highlights:
A Women In The C-Suite panel that will bring together three presidents/CEOs: AlcaCruz's Emily Ward, Cable ONE's Julie Laulis, and The Cable Center's Jana Henthorn. Henthorn will moderate a view-from-the-top discussion that will address the need to bring women forward, foster innovation, manage effectively across generations, recruit younger talent, and implement succession plans. Tuesday, Oct. 23 (3:45-4:15 p.m.) in Innovation Theater.
An L&D Panel: Vision of the Future of Technical Training and Education session that will peer into the next generation of learning protocols with Dr. Martha Soehren, Chief Talent Development Officer and senior vice president of Comcast, and the program facilitator, Dr. Jessica Briskin, an assistant professor at Bloomsburg University, as well as Tom Adams, executive vice president, Field Operations for Charter Communications, and Walter Landry, director of Technology Learning Strategy for Cox Communications. Tuesday, Oct. 23 (2:15-2:45 p.m.) in Innovation Theater.
An inspiring talk- You HAVE Permission to Engage-Cleared HOT! -by Vernice FlyGirl Armour, America's First African American Female Combat Pilot. FlyGirl will bring her message of Get Gutsy. Lead Gutsy! to achieve breakthrough results to the Annual Awards Luncheon. Wednesday, Oct. 24 (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; tickets included with Full Conference registrations or available for purchase with Exhibit Floor Only registrations) in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom.
Among other women who will speak at Cable-Tec Expo are Shirley Bloomfield, CEO of NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association and an Innovation Theater panelist; Noopur Davis, senior vice president, Product Security and Privacy for Comcast and winner of the 2018 Women in Technology Award to be presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon; and Kimberly Gibson, senior director, Customer Operations for Cable ONE and a speaker on The Cable Center Customer Centricity Consortium panel in Innovation Theater. ATSC's Madeleine Noland, ARRIS' Carol Ainsley, ARRIS' Tal Laufer, CableLabs' Dr. Jennifer Andreoli-Fang, Charter's Kim Keever, Cisco's Yvette Kanouff, Cisco's Tong Liu, Cox's Lisa Pinkey-Coleman, and Ellis Edits' Leslie Ellis will be among women presenting at or moderating Fall Technical Forum workshops.
In addition, an array of women technologists and motivational speakers will speak at two invitation-only events: a Women in Technology Mentee/Mentor program and a first-ever meeting of the SCTE ISBE-Tuck Alumni Association, both on Monday, Oct. 22. The WIT program will be keynoted by Women in Cable Telecommunications president and CEO Maria Brennan and will feature a roster of past Women in Technology Award winners, including Kanouff, Ellis, Advance Newhouse's Nomi Bergman, Cadent's Stephanie Mitchko-Beale, Charter's Debi Picciolo, Comcast's Sherita Ceasar, Itaas' Vibha Rustagi, and Somos' Theresa Hennesy. Tish Squillaro, author of Headtrash: Cleaning Out The Junk That Stands Between You And Success and Headtrash 2: Dealing With And Overcoming Other People's Junk, will speak at both the WIT and SCTE ISBE-Tuck functions.
Under the leadership of Program Chair Kevin Hart, Executive Vice President and Chief Product and Technology Officer for Cox Communications, SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2018 has attracted a banner list of speakers. Following opening remarks by Hart, the Opening General Session on Tuesday, Oct. 23 will feature a keynote by Pat Esser, president of Cox Communications; visionary insights from Dr. Bernardo Huberman, Fellow and vice president of the Core Innovation Team for CableLabs ; and a landmark panel comprising: Michael Powell, president and CEO of NCTA-The Internet & Television Association; Phil McKinney, president and CEO of CableLabs ; Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE ISBE; and moderator Tony Werner, president, Technology, Product, Xperience, Comcast Cable.
