50 a os despu s, en el marco de la conmemoraci n colectiva de la Masacre Estudiantil de Tlatelolco, buscamos recrear aquellos d as en los que las marchas se extendieron por la Ciudad de M xico y dieron inicio a toda una revoluci n no solo social, sino cultural.
Tlatelolco: la plaza en movimiento es la primera serie original de Spotify M xico, coproducida con Rolling Stone y en colaboraci n con Cultura UNAM*. A lo largo de cinco episodios, la serie se remonta a 1968 para contar la historia del movimiento estudiantil, su impacto en la cultura, el cine, los medios y la m sica.
1968 fue un a o de rebeliones en el mundo y M xico no fue la excepci n. Mientras el pa s se preparaba para celebrar los XIX Juegos Ol mpicos, un evento destinado a presentar al mundo una potencia emergente, surgi un movimiento estudiantil que cambiar a nuestra historia.
Los estudiantes que salieron a las calles en el verano encontraron aliados inesperados y, en pocos meses, la organizaci n y fuerza del movimiento tomaron por sorpresa a un gobierno ansioso por mantener la paz -o la ilusi n de ella- a toda costa. Aquel enfrentamiento definir a la pol tica, la sociedad y la cultura de las pr ximas d cadas.
El podcast parte de una investigaci n original de Rolling Stone M xico e incorpora los testimonios, recopilados por el Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco de la UNAM, de los protagonistas del movimiento y las voces de los intelectuales, como Carlos Monsiv is o Elena Poniatowska.
El primer episodio se centra en la efervescencia social, pol tica y cultural que recorr a el mundo en el a o de de las mil revoluciones: 1968.
La segunda entrega sigue paso a paso la g nesis del movimiento estudiantil en M xico, los personajes que lo definieron y los infames hechos que culminaron en la matanza de Tlatelolco.
El tercer episodio revisa los distintos grupos sociales que participaron en el 68. El cuarto y quinto episodios se enfocan en las varias manifestaciones culturales emanadas de ese a o decisivo: m sica, cine, teatro, medios de comunicaci n.
A cincuenta a os de los hechos, la plaza de Tlatelolco permanece como un s mbolo de la memoria colectiva de M xico.
Pese a las balas, el dolor y la tragedia, la plaza permanece como un espacio de resistencia social: el escenario de las marchas, el lugar de las protestas.
A veces la plaza toma una dimensi n f sica, a veces digital. Toda una generaci n de luchadores sociales y activistas han encontrado en el 68 un mito fundacional. En la plaza a n resuenan esos ecos lejanos; la plaza sigue en movimiento.
La serie recrea los sucesos del 68 para que las generaciones m s j venes puedan revivirlos y hacerlos propios.
