LiveGrade Pro .0 Integrates a New LiveGrade iPhone app for Remote control and Comes with ACES Support, a Revised User Interface, and File Grading Capabilities.

01/04/2014

Pomfort, a provider of professional software for data and color management on the film set, has released a new major upgrade to its LiveGrade Pro solution. Beside ACES support, and new file grading capabilities, LiveGrade Pro now integrates a new iPhone app, which facilitates the collaboration with producers, directors, and cinematographers in the field while being away from the computer. Connected over WiFi, the LiveGrade remote app allows to select and apply grades, to bypass color, and to switch between attached LUT devices.

The LiveGrade Pro ugrade provides further support in professional productions which utilize Academy Colour Encoding Specification (ACES). Developed by the Academy, ACES has been established as a new image interchange and processing colorspace to leverage workflow efficiencies, and to maintain color accuracy for digital production and post. The new version of LiveGrade Pro fully supports ACES workflows with IDT, ACESlog, RRT, and ODT filtering.

The new LiveGrade Pro combines the power and flexibility of manipulating live signals with the traditional approach of file-based color grading. Beside adjusting colors on the live image, LiveGrade Pro now offers file grading capabilities that let users open JPG, TIFF, and DPX files as well as QuickTime movie frames for creating and applying looks, or just for a side-byside comparison of existing grades. Furthermore, LiveGrade Pro now contains a simple and completely redesigned Device Manager for improved management of multiple LUT box devices. Film sets with multiple cameras and monitors now benefit from the possibility to group or mix up to three devices in each grading slot, which allows the application the grade in real time to these devices the same time.

As feature movies, episodic television programs, independent films and commercials raise the bar for visually compelling content, starting to control colors and looks at an early stage on set is playing a growing role in today's professional workflows. With our latest upgrade to LiveGrade Pro, we continue to demonstrate our support of filmmaking professionals through innovative, cost-effective features, states Patrick Renner, Head of Product Design at Pomfort. By listening to our customers and responding to the various ways our software is used in production world wide, we look to continually advance the capabilities and the usage of the software.

During the past years, Pomfort has demonstrated both its ambition and capacity to provide the most advanced, highest quality and yet most intuitive software for on set live grading. Today, LiveGrade Pro is one of the world's most distributed software for manipulating images on the HD-SDI signal.

In addition to LiveGrade Pro, the basic version of LiveGrade provides essential creative tools for adjusting colors on the live images. It supports LUT devices from Blackmagic Design's HD-Link family, and supports the CDL and Alexa Look grading mode. It is ideally suited for users who just need basic preview and pre-grade features in a low-cost standard workflow. A major 2.0 upgrade version for LiveGrade Basic is now also available.

LiveGrade Pro 2.0 and LiveGrade Basic 2.0 are immediately available as a download on http://pomfort.com. The LiveGrade Pro Remote app for iPhone and iPod touch is available in the App Store today. (Available 27th of March)
