Trabajar con sonido bajo el agua nunca va a ser f cil, pero gracias a las mejoras en la calidad de audio ofrecidas por la nueva tecnolog a de amplificaci n Core de DPA, el mezclador de sonido para cine y televisi n Ivor Talbot ha sido capaz de superar una multitud de problemas de comunicaci n que de otro modo podr an haber causado problemas en su proyecto cinematogr fico m s reciente.
Talbot, que ha trabajado en muchas pel culas prestigiosas como Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Woman in Black, descubri las ventajas de Core by DPA mientras trabajaba en 47 Meters Down Uncaged, una pel cula de acci n sobre tiburones que fue rodada principalmente en un tanque de agua en Pinewood Studios.
Como firme fan tico de los micr fonos DPA, Talbot ya posee una selecci n de los micr fonos omnidireccionales miniatura d:screet 4061 de la compa a que siempre usa como micr fonos de solapa. Sin embargo, para este proyecto, el distribuidor de DPA en el Reino Unido, Sound Network, sugiri probar los micr fonos miniatura omnidireccionales d:screet Core 4071 con Presence Boost. Los micr fonos con la tecnolog a Core by DPA ofrecen un sonido m s claro y abierto en todo el espectro de frecuencias. La resistencia al agua y a la humedad tambi n ha mejorado, gracias al nano revestimiento y al sellado herm tico de los sensibles componentes electr nicos, una caracter stica til cuando se planea montarlos dentro de una m scara de buceo de cara completa.
Conseguir los micr fonos adecuados era crucial en esta pel cula porque proporcionaban un medio de comunicaci n, que era tan importante como intentar grabar el di logo del actor. Ten amos cuatro o cinco actores en el tanque de agua y todos necesitaban comunicarse entre s , as como con el director y el coordinador de buceo sobre el agua. Pas un par de d as probando diferentes micr fonos y descubr que la mayor a de los sistemas no eran lo suficientemente claros y no pod an soportar la presi n del aire dentro de la m scara. De hecho, eran tan dif ciles de escuchar que se volvi f sicamente doloroso , explica Talbot.
Por el contrario, el sonido de los micr fonos d:screet Core 4071 era muy claro y permit a que todos se escucharan perfectamente.
Talbot segura que la tecnolog a Core by DPA marc una gran diferencia en la calidad del sonido , dice Talbot. Desde el punto de vista de las comunicaciones, ofrec an un sonido limpio y consistente, y lo que realmente me sorprendi fue que tambi n pudimos grabar algunos di logos tiles. Ciertamente no esperaba eso. Su baja sensibilidad y su capacidad para manejar la presi n del aire los hac a muy adecuados para el trabajo bajo el agua e incluso hac an que el regulador del tanque de ox geno y las burbujas sonaran mejor .
Micros en miniatura El peque o tama o de la gama de micr fonos d:screet de DPA tambi n fue una ventaja porque Ivor Talbot pudo colocarlos dentro de las m scaras de buceo de los actores sin que fueran vistos.
Desde el principio me dijeron que el director no quer a ver un micr fono, sino que lo quer a escondido para que no obstruyeran las caras de los actores y lo m s abajo posible para que no se taparan la boca de los actores. Cuando llevas puesta una m scara de buceo no hay mucho espacio para nada m s. Hab a literalmente una portilla a un lado de la m scara en la que pod amos poner un micr fono y por suerte los micr fonos d:screet eran lo suficientemente peque os para caber , a ade.
Dirigida por Johannes Roberts y protagonizada por Sophie N lisse, Brec Bassinger, Corinne Foxx, Sistine Rose Stallone y Brianne Tju, 47 Meters Down Uncaged cuenta la historia de cuatro buceadores adolescentes que deciden explorar una ciudad submarina en ruinas. Su aventura se convierte r pidamente en horror cuando descubren que comparten un laberinto claustrof bico de cuevas sumergidas con las especies de tiburones m s mortales del oc ano. La pel cula es una continuaci n de la pel cula de 2017, 47 Meters Down, que recaud m s de 61 millones de d lares en todo el mundo.
Durante la filmaci n, Ivor Talbot utiliz sus propios micr fonos omnidireccionales en Miniatura d:screet 4061 para captar el di logo cuando los actores estaban en tierra firme. Pero su experiencia positiva con la tecnolog a Core by DPA le ha inspirado a actualizar todos sus lavaliers DPA.
