A city of start up is born

Guo Huijuan, a jobless woman, started up her business of underwear and became the boss of Janefavor's Franchisee; Yu Changlin got a micro loan of 100000 yuan and joined chain store of Gebixiaochu. Now his business it thriving and has offered 50000 jobs. Shao Jiayue, a recent college graduate, is now the boss of Shiyuan Animation Toy in Haishu District and has her own animation brand. There are many such stories of starting business. Statistics show that on average, 296 startups were born in Ningbo every day in the first half of 2014. Ningbo is becoming a city of startups.

Starting business is the source of employment. The more people who start their business and the higher the entrepreneurship index in a city, the more active its economy will be. In recent years, departments at all levels in the city offered almost all kinds of service for startups from providing startup projects to startup training, from rental subsidy to startup fund.

Statistics show that in the first half of 2014, Ningbo has granted 8.45m yuan social security subsidy for people who started up their business, with a growth of 438%; supported 2870 startups, including 750 SMEs and 2120 privately-owned businesses, up 72% and 516% respectively; subsidy for creating jobs is 860000 yuan, up 406%; supported 107 mini enterprises and created 424 jobs, up 224% and 399% respectively; rental subsidy 171,140 yuan, 58 privately-owned enterprises enjoyed the policy; micro loans for startups 20.871m yuan, which supported 983 startups and created 6654 jobs; the interest subsidy for micro loans reached 14.4487 yuan, up 494%

In the first half of 2014, the startups have created 275000 jobs. The e-business service office, started up by Wang Yi who graduated from Ningbo university, has created 600,000 yuan within 10 months and its business is on the steady rise. Wang Jianing, who started up Ningbo Great Import and Export Company, is now contacting foreign designers to transform and upgrade his trade business. More and more startups, after its incubation period, are starting to fly.
