NAB offers insights into building and sustaining online programming --

The NAB show, a platform for the latest developments in the delivery of filmed entertainment content across electronic media, takes place from 5 to 10 April at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada USA. A number of industry related events and conference sessions will run in conjunction with the show, including The Magic Behind Successful Online Programming presented by NewTek, which offers in depth perspectives from a diverse group of successful digital content aggregators on new developments in the field as well as how to generate a profit from the medium.
The session will take place on 9 April and will be moderated by controversial actor and comedian Tom Green.
Additional celebrity speakers featuring in the line-up include: Criss Angel, an internationally famous illusionist and performance artist, Rob Barnett, the founder and CEO of My Damn Channel and Cali Lewis, the host of GeekBeat TV.
Each speaker has experienced success on their respective digital platforms allowing them to weigh in and offer insights as to how they are able to grow and sustain audiences while monetizing their programmes.
Though well known for his appearances in comedic films, Green s internet talk show, Tom Green s House Tonight is one of the most downloaded podcasts on iTunes.
Aside from his television series, Criss Angel Mindfreak, creator, executive producer and director Criss Angel produced an online project in 2013, Criss Angel BeLIEve, which features on internet television channel, Spike TV.
Barnett offers a wealth of experience which stems from a long spanning career in production and programming. More recently he has worked with Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Johnny Rotten on his entertainment studio and content distributor; My Damn Channel.
Lewis, who is president of Livid Lobster, the parent company of technology news platform Geek Beat, has had her insights featured on BBC, CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, MSNBC and Sirius.
Philip Nelson, chief relationship officer at NewTek, a website which assists content creators in getting their stories onto screens, says that the session is especially relevant considering the number of people who are now using the online space to reach global audiences.
NewTek will live stream the session on the NAB Show website.
