Award-winning actor Israel Matseke-Zulu, who played the villainous role of Don in Gomora says he's been struggling to find work after his leg amputation earlier.

ISRAEL MATSEKE-ZULU: LIFE IS HARD' The legendary actor Israel Matseke-Zulu, who exited Mzansi Magic's telenovela Gomora as Don in 2021 believes that his amputated leg is the reason he's struggling to land another acting job.

Life is hard because I can't get a job as an actor. I think my missing leg is the cause.

Matseke-Zulu tells Daily Sun that he's been to several auditions but hasn't been given any acting work.

I go to auditions, but I don't get callbacks. I don't want this to affect my mental health. It's scary that life can change so drastically in such a short time. I know I'm a talented actor and haven't lost hope. Maybe something will come up sooner or later.

The star adds that he's keeping himself busy with his kwaito album, though he's struggling to land a TV acting role.

I don't want to feel pity for myself, so I make sure I keep myself busy. I'm producing my films with a friend. I hope everything goes well. I'm also recording my kwaito album, which will be released soon.

ACTOR-MUSICIAN: UPCOMING KWAITO SINGLE The actor-musician revealed in an interview with Sunday World that he aims to release his new single titled Phihli Phohlo in October to stimulate mass anticipation of his upcoming album in 2023.

This will mark Matseke-Zulu's third studio album release since the beginning of his music career, according to the outlet.

He hopes to reunite kwaito artists and motivate the younger generation to keep kwaito music culture alive.

Kwaito music is a Mzansi-founded genre, and this is the kind of music that we should learn to preserve. It stands for who we are as a country. I understand that as time goes by, people want to hear different sounds and there is always space to make it more entertaining for the people to enjoy.

I am here to release the sounds we always loved. I am one of the kwaito musicians who are still alive, and I should play my part in preserving the sounds of kwaito, he says.
