La edici n n mero 15 del Festival de Sevilla contin a completando su programaci n y poniendo a punto el que ser el gran encuentro del cine europeo. El pr ximo d a 9 de noviembre, el certamen abrir el tel n con Non-Fiction, la ltima pel cula de Olivier Assayas. Protagonizada por Juliette Binoche, Guillaume Canet y Vincent Macaigne, esta comedia apuesta por di logos fren ticos, y juega con herramientas argumentales bien jugosas: la crisis de una pareja inmersa en cierta rutina, la infidelidad, una ir nica mirada al mundo de los actores, y los cambios tecnol gicos en un mundo donde la lucha de egos es habitual, el literario. Assayas perseguir el Golden Giraldillo, como tambi n har n Mia Hansen-L ve, Elsa Amiel, Richard Billingham, Babis Makridis, Roberto Minervini y Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
Ganadora del Oso de Oro en Berl n 2016 con Future, la parisina Mia Hansen-Lion traer a Sevilla su ltimo trabajo, Maya, emocionante relato sobre la conexi n que sienten un reportero, liberado de un secuestro de varios meses en Siria, y una adolescente india a la que conoce en un viaje para reencontrarse consigo mismo. Curtida como ayudante de direcci n de Bertrand Bonello o Eug ne Green, Elsa Amiel presentar su primer largometraje, Pearl, o el dilema moral que vive una culturista que, a pocas horas de participar en un prestigioso campeonato, recibe la visita de su ex y de su hijo, al que hace cuatro a os que no ve. La culturista Julia F ry y el brit nico Peter Mullan son los protagonistas.
Hace un par de a os, la italiana Valeria Bruni Tedeschi recibi el Premio Ciudad de Sevilla por una trayectoria impecable como actriz (La alta sociedad, Locas de alegr a) y como directora (Es m s f cil para un camello, Actrices, Un castillo en Italia). Ahora firma y protagoniza Summer house, una autopar dica farsa en la que una mujer pasa unas vacaciones con su alocada familia, intentando recuperarse de una ruptura sentimental y empezar el guion de su pr ximo film.
Tres pel culas muy distintas completar n la Secci n Oficial del Festival de Sevilla. El aplaudid simo fot grafo brit nico Richard Billingham debuta como director con unas memorias infantiles que, de alg n modo, complementan una de sus colecciones de fotos m s prestigiosas (que retrataban escenas cotidianas y caseras de su familia). En Ray & Liz, t tulo que cita a sus propios padres, Billingham recuerda a una familia disfuncional y tirando a negligente, al tiempo que retrata la Inglaterra del thatcherismo.
The Italian Roberto Minervini, por su parte, viaja a Louisiana en What You Gonna Do When the World is on Fire?, para mostrar el racismo que sigue sufriendo la poblaci n negra en Estados Unidos. El film fue premiado en el ltimo Festival de Venecia. La Secci n Oficial se cierra con Pity, of Babis Makridis, que cuenta con la colaboraci n de Efthymis Filippou, guionista habitual de Yorgos Lanthimos (en Canine o Langosta, por ejemplo). Se trata de una comedia negra que sigue el d a a d a de un abogado vive m s feliz instalado, y rebozado, en la desgracia.
Official Selection Out of Competition Entre las pel culas de Secci n Oficial Fuera de Concurso, At War supone el reencuentro entre el director St phane Briz y el actor Vincent Lindon, tras films como Market Law, miss Chambon o Im not made to be loved. Ahora se al an para contar la lucha obrera de un grupo de trabajadores de una f brica ante el anuncio del cierre de su lugar de trabajo. Y tras Far from men, el director franc s David Oelhoffen se pasa al thriller con Close Enemies, en la que Mathias Schoenaerts (De xido y hueso, Gorri n Rojo) y Reda Kateb (Django, Un profeta) son dos amigos de la infancia enfrentados al estar a ambos lados de la ley.

Merino. Premio Jean Vigo 2016 con The death of Louis XIV, Albert Serra acude de nuevo al monarca franc s, esta vez con el rostro de su indispensable Llu s Serrat (el Sancho de Honor de Cavalleria), en su nueva pel cula, Sun King, que participar en la secci n Revoluciones Permanentes. Har lo propio Ilan Serruya con Meeting, t tulo que hace referencia al encuentro nada apacible del cineasta con su padre, con el que tiene una relaci n con muchas heridas por cicatrizar, y que tambi n hace un gui o al lugar donde sucede todo, la Isla Reuni n.
Tras ganar el premio Las Nuevas Olas No Ficci n en Sevilla2014 con Remine: el ltimo movimiento obrero, Marcos M. Merino regresa a Sevilla con In Memoriam (La derrota conviene olvidarla), en la que reflexiona sobre la conexi n entre la identidad de un pueblo y su memoria, y plantea la utilidad de preservar esos recuerdos.
