Gulli Parc opens this summer in Le Mans Barely two years after opening the first Gulli Parc in Bry-sur-Marne in the Paris region, La Bo te aux Enfants, a company specializing in family leisure-time activities, and Gulli, Frances No. 1 free youth and family channel, are opening their second theme park in Saint-Saturnin, five minutes from Le Mans. Revolving around Gullis programmes and values, Gulli Parc offers a wide variety of activities for the whole family, with ample opportunities for fun, relaxation and togetherness. The 1,250-sq.m park, which opened on 6 July, welcomes children ages 1-12 and their parents during the summer holidays.
A unique, new-generation concept...
In a booming market for indoor amusement parks, with 200 parks in France in 2011 and nearly 300 today, the management teams of La Bo te aux Enfants and Gulli are convinced theres room in the market for high-quality indoor parks. Attuned to what children and parents want and sharing the same values, they launched their own indoor theme-park concept.
Faithful to the spirit that drives French families favourite channel, Gulli Parc combines entertainment, education and physical activity and fosters childrens development.
Parents are welcome to share this world with their children.
A wide range of programmes based on Gullis iconic shows and characters is offered year-round to kids and the whole family.
...In tune with audience expectations
Drawing on the success of the first Gulli Parc, which opened in October 2011 at Bry-sur-Marne outside Paris, an even larger theme park was designed for Le Mans. Since its opening, Gulli Parc Bry has attracted more than 170,000 visitors: nearly 100,000 children under the age of 12 and the 72,000 adults who came with them.
Among the young visitors, 22,000 came to celebrate either their birthday or the birthday of a friend.
Seeking a dynamic hub of economic activity, La Bo te aux Enfants chose the outskirts of Le Mans for its second park.
"We were very successful with our first Gulli Parc, which exceeded our projections by 20% in both visitor traffic and sales. That represented a little more than double the average in France for indoor amusement parks.
Gulli Parc Le Mans is our second baby and the first in the region. We have not set as high an objective, because the region has a lower potential for visitor traffic, so we adjusted our prices accordingly.
Our goal is to have seven Gulli Parcs up and running by the end of 2014," says Ga tan Le Jariel, co-founder of La Bo te aux Enfants.
"Gulli Parcs aim is to entertain children and parents by offering them a unique experience with the Gulli brand and its partners, including Lego, Mattel and Hasbro. The new park builds our brand ecosystem by bringing Gulli closer to its family audience and providing even more value for our advertising partners. We hope Le Mans will be just as successful as Bry-sur-Marne," says Benoit Roque, sales manager for Lagard re Actives television channels.
