Innovationen f r Drehmomentwandler bieten signifikante Vorteile in puncto Energieeffizienz, Bauraum, Gewicht und Leistungsf higkeit
Integrierter Drehmomentwandler - Leistung und Effizienz bei wenig Raum
In Nordamerika verf gt das Gros aller neu zugelassenen Fahrzeuge ber ein Automatikgetriebe mit Drehmomentwandler. Auch auf diesem Gebiet tr gt Schaeffler bereits seit Jahrzehnten ma geblich durch Innovationen dazu bei, den Kraftstoffverbrauch und damit den CO2-Aussto zu senken. Fortw hrende Entwicklungsarbeit hat die ehemals als ineffizient abgestempelten Getriebeautomaten auf musterg ltige Effizienz getrimmt. Moderne Wandlerautomatgetriebe stehen manuellen Schaltgetrieben und Doppelkupplungssystemen in Sachen Energieeffizienz in nichts mehr nach.
Drehmomentwandler werden bereits seit Jahrzehnten vorrangig bei Stufenautomatik- Getrieben und stufenlosen CVT-Getrieben eingesetzt. Der Wandler ist zwischen Motor und Getriebe angeordnet und bertr gt das Motordrehmoment auf die Getriebe-Eingangswelle. Die bertragung erfolgt w hrend der Anfahrt hydrodynamisch, beziehungsweise zur Verbrauchsabsenkung im Fahrbetrieb ber eine integrierte Reibkupplung. Zus tzlich erh ht der Wandler bei der Anfahrt das Drehmoment an der Getriebe-Eingangswelle bis zum dreifachen Faktor. Der Wunsch nach h heren Fahrleistungen, reduziertem Kraftstoffverbrauch und geringeren Emissionen sowie der stetig kompakter werdende Bauraum erfordern permanente Entwicklungsschritte in Sachen Auslegung und Konzeption des modernen Drehmomentwandlers , sagt Marc McGrath, Pr sident Getriebesysteme, Schaeffler Nordamerika.
Kompakter, leichter und leistungsf higer
Ein Blick auf die neue Drehmomentwandler-Generation W238 verdeutlicht die Entwicklungsfortschritte. Die technischen Eckdaten dieser aktuellen Generation: 530 Nm Drehmoment bei einem hydraulischen Durchmesser von 238 Millimeter. Und das bei einem Gewicht von mittlerweile nur noch 14 Kilogramm sowie einer Breite des Hydraulikelements von gerade einmal rund 50 mm. Die Vorg nger- Generation W258 wog noch ber 17 Kilogramm und hatte einen Durchmesser von 258 mm sowie eine Breite von knapp 70 mm. Kompakter, leichter und dennoch leistungsf higer - diese Gegen berstellung der beiden Generationen bringt es auf den Punkt.
Bereits seit 1998 hat Schaeffler seine Position in den USA durch eine eigene Drehmomentwandler-Entwicklung und -Produktion in Wooster/Ohio gest rkt. Wooster fungiert als Kompetenzcenter im globalen Schaeffler Entwicklungsnetzwerk mit 40 Standorten sowie rund 6.000 Ingenieuren und Technikern. Die stetige Weiterentwicklung ist ein wichtiger Punkt f r den Markterfolg der LuK Drehmomentwandler. Die Entwicklungskompetenz erm glicht immer wieder aufsehenerregende Technologiespr nge. Dazu geh ren zum Beispiel innovative D mpferkonzepte wie das Fliehkraftpendel (FKP) und neue Wandlerkonzepte wie der integrierte Drehmomentwandler (Integrated Torque Converter) und der Multifunktionswandler. Es gibt zahlreiche Ans tze zur weiteren Reduzierung von Gewicht, Massentr gheit und Kosten.
Innovative Wandlerkonzepte
Beim integrierten Drehmomentwandler handelt es sich um ein komplett berarbeitetes Wandler-/Kupplungssystem, bei dem die Kupplungsfunktion direkt ber die Wandlerturbine ausgef hrt wird, anstatt wie bisher ber einen separaten Kolben. Dadurch werden Gewicht und Massentr gheitsmoment reduziert, Bauraum verringert oder auch die M glichkeit geschaffen, ohne zus tzlichen Platzbedarf innovative D mpferkonzepte wie FKP einzusetzen. Fliehkraftpendel sind seit 2010 in heckgetriebenen Fahrzeugen erfolgreich im Einsatz. Durch die Kombination von integriertem Drehmomentwandler und FKP wird dies zunehmend auch bei frontgetriebenen Fahrzeugen m glich.
Die Funktionsweise des Fliehkraftpendels ist wie folgt: In den neuen Wandlern ist turbinenseitig ein im lraum betriebenes Fliehkraftpendel angeordnet. Ein Feder- D mpfer bernimmt die Grundisolation bei geschlossener berbr ckungskupplung, die verbleibenden Ungleichf rmigkeiten werden fast vollst ndig vom Fliehkraftpendel getilgt. Die maximalen Drehzahlschwankungen am Differenzialeingang lassen sich auf diesem Wege im Vergleich zum konventionellen D mpfer um mehr als 70 Prozent reduzieren - ideale Voraussetzungen zur Reduktion von Verbrauch und CO2-Aussto . Der D mpfer mit Fliehkraftpendel im Drehmomentwandler f hrt zu einer deutlichen Verbesserung der Schwingungsisolation. Mit dieser Technik ist es m glich, die berbr ckungskupplung fr her zu schlie en und damit Verbrauch und Komfort gleichzeitig zu verbessern , erkl rt Uwe Wagner, Leiter Forschung und Entwicklung Automotive bei Schaeffler. Daher wird das FKP in den Drehmomentwandlern von Automatikgetrieben in Zukunft vermehrt zum Einsatz kommen. Um unseren Wettbewerbsvorsprung zu halten, werden wir die Technologie kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln. Das FKP ist im Finale des Automotive News PACE Award im April 2014, bei dem Innovationen aus dem Automobil-Bereich ausgezeichnet werden.
Eine weitere Wandler-Innovation ist ma geschneidert auf moderne, aufgeladene Motoren und eine revolution re Erfindung im Wandlerbereich: Der Multifunktionswandler (MFTC) l sst sich ideal mit Start-Stopp-Systemen kombinieren und ist in der Lage, das bekannte verz gerte Ansprechverhalten, die Turbo- Gedenksekunde , zu kompensieren , erkl rt Marc McGrath. Ferner l sst sich mit Hilfe des Multifunktionswandlers der m glichen Leerlauf-Entkoppelung (Idle Disconnect) und fr hzeitigen berbr ckung des Wandlers eine Kraftstoffersparnis von bis zu f nf Prozent realisieren. Die durch den MFTC m gliche Entkoppelung des Getriebes vom Motor eliminiert die Stillstandsverluste eines Wandlers.
