The only annual event to solely showcase public service media (PSM) programme formats, the EUROVISION Creative Forum, celebrates its 10th edition in September.
Programme-makers from world leading public service broadcasters will meet in Berlin between September 14 and 16 to screen the best new TV formats and discover more about the development of each show.
The EBU's Head of Television and Forum founder Bettina Brinkmann says she's proud the EUROVISION Creative Forum is celebrating its 10th edition:
Thanks to the strong commitment of EBU members, in the past ten years we've seen this event grow into one of the must-attend arenas for showcasing innovative and new programme formats, she said. The Forum provides a unique platform to not only share but celebrate the best of PSM content which gets better every year.
Uniquely, attendees not only get to view new programmes but also vote on the top three best new formats.
Last year's winners included an RTE (Ireland) series where teens take over the responsibility of planning their family's annual holiday; UK Channel 4's Secret lives of teens/students' and a reality series from VRT (Belgium) that featured four young, long-term unemployed men adopt creative approaches to finding work.
For its 10th edition the EUROVISION Creative Forum has been extended to three days.
Not only are we screening the best formats in various genres from factual to fictional to multi-platform but, for the first time, we're inviting some of the major global players in the field of entertainment creation and production to come to present their latest entertainment formats, said Bettina Brinkmann.
This year's event sees presentations from EBU Members across Europe and also from NHK in Japan and KBS in South Korea.
There will also be an update on the development of three new, creative formats that have been financed with money from the EBU's TV Development Fund: RTE's Total Recallers, DR's The High Note and The New Comic Talent from Multim dia France Productions.
Teasers from 22 of the formats being screened in Berlin will be shared on the EBU's Facebook page in the three weeks leading up to the Forum and there will be live coverage of the event on the EBU's Twitter feed.
