Norfolk State University has partnered with Daktronics to design, manufacture, and install a new LED video centerhung system and audio system inside Joseph G. Echols Hall. The installation will take place in October prior to the start of the 2016-17 basketball season.
These new displays are going to greatly change the environment in Echols Hall for men's and women's basketball and volleyball, says Athletics Director Marty L. Miller. This is an investment that will result in positive returns for the athletics department and the entire university.
The centerhung will consist of four main displays, each measuring approximately 8 feet high by 16.5 feet wide and featuring 6 millimeter line spacing, and a ring display measuring 2 feet high by 54 feet in circumference and featuring 10 millimeter line spacing mounted below the main displays.
Additionally, four scoreboards will be mounted in the four corners of the arena and nine LED scorer's tables will sit along the sidelines. These displays allow the opportunity to show additional game information and statistics as well as highlighting sponsors throughout events.
We appreciate the opportunity to be part of this fantastic upgrade to Echols Hall, says Charley Bocklet, Daktronics regional manager. The new centerhung, with its excellent video and graphics capabilities, complemented by a complete new audio system, will surely excite the fans and create a terrific new atmosphere for the NSU Spartans.
The new audio system will provide booming sound and clear, intelligible speech to maximize the audio experience for every fan within the arena.
The main displays can show high-resolution imagery with wide angle visibility and are capable of variable content zoning. This allows each display to show one large image or to divide the display into multiple sections to show any variety of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.
Daktronics was also asked by Idaho State University to design, manufacture, and install a new LED video display and custom fixed-digit scoreboard for Holt Arena on campus in Pocatello, Idaho. The installation was recently completed with everything operational prior to the Bengals football season kicking off this fall.
Idaho State Athletics is happy to partner with Daktronics on the new Idaho Potato Commission video board at Holt Arena, says Athletic Director Jeff Tingey. This new audio and video platform is a game-changer for our fans. It represents a quantum leap forward in the fan experience at Holt Arena.
The new video display will measure 12 feet high by 39.5 feet wide and feature 10 millimeter line spacing to bring excellent image clarity and contrast at wide viewing angles to every seat inside the arena. The display is located behind the end zone on one end of the arena and the fixed-digit scoreboard is located behind the opposite end zone to show scoring, time remaining, statistics and other information fans expect at every game.
The video display is capable of variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image across the entire display or it can be divided into multiple zones to show any variety of live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics and sponsorship messages.
It is exciting to provide new technology for Idaho State, and even better that we are able to impact two schools with one project by repurposing the previous display at American Falls High School, says Greg Schmidt, Daktronics sales representative. The installation will have a great impact on Bengals fans at every football game and other events held at Holt Arena. We're proud to be a part of it and look forward to the start of the season.
The previous scoreboard will benefit American Falls High School. It was installed at the school's football field shortly after being removed from Holt Arena and will bring entertainment to fans and players in American Falls, Idaho.
Campbell University football and lacrosse fans have another reason to be excited when their seasons begin this fall as the school has turned to Daktronics to install a new LED video display at Barker-Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, NC.
These new video boards at Barker-Lane Stadium and Gore Arena were some of the final pieces identified several years ago to add to our fan experience, says Campbell University Athletics Director Bob Roller. The video board at Gore Arena has completely transformed that experience and we are confident this new board at Barker-Lane will have the same effect. Students and fans expect an interactive experience at today's events and they now will have it. Campbell alums, supporters and our very strong team of corporate partners deserve all the credit for making these improvements happen!
The new display measures 24 feet high by 42 feet wide with a 15HD pixel layout to provide excellent image clarity and contrast at wide viewing angles for the best view from any seat within the stadium.
Capable of variable content zoning, the display can show one large image or it can be divided into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game statistics and information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
We're excited to provide Campbell University with such a great video solution to further enhance the fan experience at Barker-Lane Stadium, says Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. We're looking forward to seeing it in action this week when the Fighting Camels take the field to kick off their football season.
Included in the installation are two delay-of-game clocks and one fixed-digit scoreboard to show score, quarter, game time remaining and other information fans expect at every game.
Earlier in 2016, Daktronics installed an LED video display system for Campbell University at Gil
