deltatre and Microsoft power Telenet sports app

In a bid to enhance its mobile coverage of sporting events, Telenet has released a new multisport app and desktop website, as a result of a double alliance with deltatre and Microsoft.

The Belgium-headquartered Telenet Group is the largest provider of cable broadband service in the country, and the new solution is its first-ever sport-specific app, available on Android and iOS. The solution will accompany Telenet's sports broadcast coverage of all disciplines, including football, hockey, cyclocross, volleyball golf, and Formula One across nine 24/7 channels throughout the year.

The project sees deltatre providing the design, technology and delivery of both the app and website, which will act as a hub to connect Telenet's audiences with access to live content, editorial highlights, stats and analysis, interactive social media commentary and other customisable options. deltatre's Diva sports video-player and Forge sports content management system are both included.

Microsoft's business cloud platform, Microsoft Azure has been utilised to help Telenet bring sporting events coverage to fans across multiple platforms and devices.
