Dorna Sports is excited to announce a special collaboration with BT Sport, the UK broadcasting partner of MotoGP , to produce live coverage of the Octo British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend in Ultra High Definition. Ultra HD is the next step in the evolution of high definition television viewing and broadcasting, offering viewers the highest quality images available.
This is the first time a MotoGP World Championship event will be covered live in Ultra HD and viewers of the BT Sport UHD channel will have the exclusive experience of watching Qualifying on Saturday and the Races on Sunday in the new 4K high definition format. With 19 UHD cameras covering the Silverstone circuit, including a High Speed, Super Slow Motion Camera and the worlds first live wireless 4K cameras, provided by Vislink, BT Sport Ultra HD viewers will be able to fully immerse themselves in the latest development of MotoGP TV coverage.
As always, Dorna Sports will continue to produce the International Programme Feed in High Definition for all worldwide broadcasters. This weekend at Silverstone there will be more than 140 HD live cameras at the circuit, allowing for coverage from every angle. The addition of the Ultra HD cameras brings the total number of live cameras to 160, the largest amount ever seen at a MotoGP event.
