RTI Now Shipping CPB- Control Port Connecting Block

Cost-Effective Solution Powers In-Wall Controller, Provides IR and RS-232 Control of Local Devices SHAKOPEE, Minn. - April 6, 2009 - Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), a leading manufacturer of professional-grade, integrator-friendly control solutions, today announced that the company is now shipping its CPB-1 control port connecting block. For integrators, the cost-effective solution powers an RTI in-wall controller while providing both infrared (IR) and RS-232 control of local devices.

Ideal for one-room installations such as boardrooms, classrooms, or stand-alone rooms, RTIs CPB-1 provides power to one RTI in-wall system controller and features two output ports that allow the connection of up to two single or dual IR emitters. To lower costs, the connecting blocks RS-232 port allows for the serial control of devices, from an RTI in-wall controller, without the need of a separate RTI central control processor. For a simple, clean installation, the CPB-1s RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter allows for connection to almost any serial control device.

The CPB-1 features a durable steel enclosure with a black powder coating. Measuring 4 inches by 3.5 inches by 1.1 inches (width by height by depth), the connecting block can be wall mounted or free standing. The CPB-1 provides variable IR output power and is IR input compatible with industry-standard repeaters and receivers.

The CPB -1 is available now at an MSRP of $149.
