Household appliance export demo area approved as national demo zone

A couple of days ago, AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China) has officially declared to confer a title to Cixi as the national demonstration area for the quality safety of export industrial products.

This means a new leapfrog development in Cixi's household electrical appliances brands and a new achievement under the principle of strengthening the city through industrial and economic quality. said an official from Cixi Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau with confidence.

Household electrical appliances constitutes Cixi's No.1 industry of industrial economy and there are over 2,000 enterprises which are capable of manufacturing complete machines and nearly ten thousand enterprises manufacturing spare parts with over 100 varieties of household electrical appliances to export and 150,000 employees. The industrial output has exceeded 70 billion yuan, standing for over 70% of the total output in Ningbo's household electrical appliances industry. With a number of leading enterprises and renowned brands represented by Fotile, Bull, Xianfeng (Pioneering) and Qinyuan, Cixi enjoys a reputation as the three major household electrical appliances bases along with Shunde of Guangdong province and Qingdao of Shandong province. In recent years, it has won a series of honors and titles as follows: National Joint-construction Base for the Exportation of Household Electrical Appliances Products, National Merchandising Base, Cixi Characteristic Industrial Base for Intelligent and New-type Household Electrical Appliances under the National Torch Plan, National Base for Household Electrical Appliances, Zhejiang Demonstration Area for Industrial Cluster of Transformation and Upgrading, National Demonstration City of Household Electrical Appliances Going to the Countryside, Zhejiang Demonstration Area for Industry-University-Research Cooperation and so on.
