Wesgro welcomes director Bobby Roth for film masterclass in Cape Town --

Wesgro Film and Media Promotion is hosting Los Angeles-based director Bobby Roth at the Labia Theatre in Cape Town, on 30 January. Roth has directed more than 80 episodes of television, 25 television movies and 13 films, including episodes on well-known series like Prison Break, Revenge, Lost and Grey s Anatomy. He will be sharing his insights of the film and media industry with the screening of his recently completed Masterclass film that features 57 filmmakers and stars from his forty years of filmmaking.
Monica Rorvik, head of Wesgro Film and Media Promotion, is thrilled to be hosting a director of this calibre. This masterclass will add value by upskilling members of the ever growing local film industry in Cape Town and the Western Cape. Bobby s masterclass addresses a full spectrum of film and media and is geared towards enhancing the skills of directors, actors, producers and even camera crew
Roth is currently in Cape Town directing the series Of Kings and Prophets produced by Moonlighting Film Productions Services for ABC studios.
The workshop, entitled A Director Prepares: Bobby Roth s Masterclass, will showcase pertinent episodes from his 3 hour documentary series based on Roth s 40 years of directing which is broken down into episodes of him interviewing among others, acclaimed script writers, actors and directors followed by a Q&A session with Roth who says,
The knowledge sharing that will take place during his masterclass is not to be missed. Bobby has been giving master classes all around the world and Cape Town is privileged to have him do the same here. Lisa Mini, our Film and Media officer, has already received many positive responses for the workshop and we are expecting a full house, Rorvik adds.
