Ningbo receives 7.045 million tourists during National Day

According to Ningbo Municipal Tourism Bureau, during the National Day holiday, Ningbo received 7.045 tourists, with the total tourism income of 5.31 billion yuan and a 70% average occupacy rate of the star hotels. On the whole, the tourist market during the holiday is prosperous.

Ptatistics show that during the holiday, the scenic spots that received over 80,000 tourists include the Xikou-Tengtou Scenic Area, Xiangshan Film and TV City, Songlan Mountain Resort, China Fishing Village, the Ancient Town of Shipu Port, the forest hot springs in Ninghai County, Dapeng Mountain Resort, Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort, Wulei Mountain Scenic Area, the Qiantong Ancient Town, the Old Bund, Yangsha Mountain Scenic Area and Jiulong Lake Tourist Resort.

The major scenic areas have carried out various activities and festivals. For example, in Xikou Scenic Area, 16 activities were launched with the theme of "style of the Republic of China". The Ningbo Museum received 42,000 visitors during the week-long holiday with such activities as "enjoying Chinese style and seeking for Chinese dreams". Some other theme festive activities have also attracted public attention during the holiday, including the 2nd "National Day for the fishing people" at Shipu Fishing Port, the 11th Mountain Climbing Festival at Jiufeng Mountain, the 2nd "happy bamboo tour" at the East Zhejiang Bamboo Forest, the 1st Culture and Art Festival at Huangxian Village of Fenghua County and the Happy Sunflower Festival.

The opening of the Metro Line No.2 has facilitated the citizens' tours. The Ancient Nantang Street, located near the Ningbo Railway Station, received 435,300 visitors and realized a total turnover of 9.373 million yuan during the holiday. The series parent-child activity at the Moonlake Shengyuan Plaza attracted a number of children and their parents. The Drum Tower area was also crowded with tourists during the holiday. The metro line has also connected the citizens with some sightseeing and leisure spots in Zhenhai District and the surrounding villages.

Reportedly, the self-driving tour is still the major way for traveling during the holiday. Over 70% of the tourists to the major scenic areas chose self-driving, and over 80% to Ninghai County, Cixi County and Fenghua County, and a staggering 87% to Xiangshan County. Statistics show that the self-driving tourists mainly came from such cities in the Yangtze River Delta area as Ningbo, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Suzhou and Shanghai.
