Former Isibaya actor, Abdul Khoza recently opened up about his character, Nqoba, in Showmax's series,

The actor, who plays one of the more flamboyant Zulu brothers told The Citizen that this role has been one of the most challenging for him.

-- Khoza says there are expectations around the characters from the series because they've been imagined from the book by fans.

The series was written by the author, Dudu Busani-Dube who's also written, Zandile the Resolute and Naledi His Love.

The actor told the publication that he had to search deep into what he could possibly be in real life and got assisted by the cast and crew who inspired his character's choices.

-- BACKGROUND OF NQOBA Nqobizitha Zulu is the second born of the Zulu brothers who suffers from the sacrifices of raising his younger brothers.

There's lots of conflict between his character and his older brother, Nkosana Zulu, even though he got assistance to raise his siblings by his older brother.

Nqoba is the most responsible Zulu brother who takes care of the finances in the family.

He feels overlooked as the second born in the family as his older brother never listens to him because he is more responsible than him.

Khoza says he made a conscious decision to give Nqoba a unique voice so that he stands out from the other brothers.

He breathed new life into his character by dressing up in a loud fashion and giving his character a crazy personality.

The actor warns audiences that there will be themes of violence, domestic abuse, and gender-based violence on the series.

Viewers can watch the highly anticipated series on Showmax from tomorrow (11 November).
