Jean-Paul Philippot (RTBF, B lgica) ha sido reelegido para un quinto mandato consecutivo como presidente de la Uni n Europea de Radiodifusi n (UER/EBU) tras la 76 Asamblea General celebrada en Be i i (Montenegro).
Philippot tom las riendas de la mayor asociaci n mundial de broadcasters p blicos en 2009, renovando ahora la presidencia por dos a os m s hasta 2018.
Por su parte, Monica Maggioni (RAI, Italia) que ocupa la vicepresidencia desde 2015 tambi n ha sido reeleigda por un per odo de dos a os.
En su discurso ante la Asamblea, Philippot esboz las prioridades de su pr ximo mandato: la promoci n y protecci n a nivel europeo de un Public Service Media (PSM) nico e indispensable; modernizaci n de la gesti n de la UER; fortalecimiento de los programas de solidaridad de la UER para con los Miembros que lo necesiten; apoyo a las iniciativas innovadoras de la UER en cuanto a contenido original creativo y nuevas tecnolog as; y el refuerzo y la creaci n de nuevas alianzas para que el PSM puede seguir teniendo una voz fuerte.
Monica Maggioni ha reconocido que atravesamos un momento dif cil para todos los medios de comunicaci n de servicio p blico en Europa. A pesar de nuestras diferencias, tenemos que reforzar nuestros lazos y trabajar juntos hacia un objetivo com n en un esp ritu de cooperaci n y solidaridad. S lo una perspectiva compartida nos ayudar a afrontar muchos retos de hoy en d a, en un entorno de medios complejos y de r pido movimiento ante presiones de diversos intereses pol ticos y comerciales .
Tras la ltima Asamblea acompa ar n a Philippot y Maggioni en la Junta Directiva de la UER: Cilla Benk (SR / Suecia), Petr Dvo k (Cesk Televize / Rep blica Checa), Petr Fedorov (RTR / Rusia), Faical Rachid Lara chi (SNRT / Marruecos), Ken MacQuarrie (BBC / Reino Unido), Cristiano Vion (FT / Francia), Ulrich Wilhelm (ARD / Alemania) y Alexander Wrabetz (ORF / Austria).
