Speaking of replacing humans with machines, people will think about the automation upgrading of the industry. However, Cixi Lvxing Farm for Rex Rabbits is also doing so. This automatic growing system is expected to change the growing mode of breeding industry and achieve the transformation and upgrading of the traditional animal husbandry.

Reporters have been to the rabbit hutches in Lvxing's rabbitry a couple of days ago only to find that there were no breeders in the rabbitry. Without breeders, tens of thousands of rabbits are still very sound. Rows of rabbit hutches made of stainless steels seem to be installed on the transmission belt. This is their self-made automatic breeding and dung-cleaning system. The full-automatic and closed breeding assembly line is able to control the whole process of breeding, temperature maintaining, water-drinking, dung-cleaning and odor emitting automatically. Ye Hongxia, president of the rabbitry, told us that this system can lower the labor cost by three fourth and also the breeding cost. We used to breed 4,000 rabbits by one worker but now we can breed 20,000 rabbits. We have downsized to improve our efficiency.

It is learned that the computer-controlled breeding system of this type which can transfer rabbits is even unique in China and the rabbitry has applied for patent for invention to the country. The system can control the breeding amount through computers. It can not only keep fodders fresh, waste less but also make the breeding amount very even to each rabbit at certain time and certain amount so that rabbits can grow up healthily. The cleaning of rabbits' excrement is also controlled by computers and we are spared the effort of breeding and cleaning, which saved us a lot of labor cost.

Founded in 2008, Lvxing Farm for Rex Rabbits is the first national breeding platform for rex rabbits and the first-grade rabbitry at provincial level with an annual production of 100,000 rabbits. Recent years has witnessed a common phenomenon in the traditional animal husbandry field that it is hard to employ workers because no one would like to be breeders. Those who want to do the job often ask for a high pay, which increased the labor cost. The artificial breeding wastes more with one third fodders being wasted together with water waste and environment pollution problems. The traditional way of breeding can no longer suit the current market development. Ye Hongxia and his husband who is engaged in machinery manufacturing, have got the inspiration from automatic production line from enterprise. They have begun to develop the year before last year and finally made it last year. The system is now being fully used in the rabbitry.

Rabbit growers from all parts of the country, having learned the story, come to visit Ye's rabbitry for learning her experience. They have showed their great interest in purchasing the automatic breeding system developed by Ye and her husband. Quite a few breeding farms have already pre-ordered this equipment. They are from Sichuan, Anhui, Shaanxi and other parts of the country. Ye said happily. Now Ye Hongxia not only breeds rabbits but also produces the equipment to serve more rabbit growers and achieve common prosperity with them.
